FAREWELL TO KIWI AND PRESTIGE POKER ROOMS?
13 February 2009
CD Poker benefits from apparent closure of two
popular online poker websites
Player reports this week indicate that the Kiwi Poker
and Prestige Poker websites have apparently shut down,
with all players being automatically rerouted to CD
Poker, also a member of the iPoker network operated by
Playtech.
When InfoPowa went to press there was no indication of
whether players on the two defunct sites had received
communications regarding the shutdowns, but on checking
the websites InfoPowa confirmed that Kiwi visitors were
being routed direct to CD Poker, whilst the Prestige
Poker site was no longer operating as a poker room.
There was no information on any of the websites
regarding closures or acquisitions that might impact
Kiwi and Prestige.
Speculation is that the poker rooms have been acquired
by the Gibraltar-licensed CD Poker owners WHG
(International) Limited or its associate WHG Trading
Limited and are the subjects of a consolidation
exercise, but we await a response from CD Poker to
obtain accurate information.
