The latest edition of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series
- number 7 in a line of successful online poker tourneys
- ended with the Main Event this week and a prize pool
worth $2.645 million - well over the Full Tilt $2
million guarantee.
5 291 players bought in for the Main Event at $500+$35,
generating a pool that benefitted some 738 players who
cashed in the tournament, and six figure payments to the
top five survivors.
Player 'Reverse,' starting at a 2 to 1 chip count
advantage prevailed in the heads up with Thomas Wahlroos,
taking home the winner's cheque for $456 401.66, whilst
Wahlroos collected $276 454.75 for the second placing.
Similar big money take-homes flowed from Event 17 in
FTOPS 7, a No Limit Hold'em contest with a $2 620 buy-in
that ran for two days and saw an entry field of 849
pokerheads, generating a prize-pool of $2 122 500.
Familiar names among the entries included Gavin Smith,
JJ Liu, Eric Froehlich, teenage whiz Michael "Timex"
McDonald and Darrel Dicken. When this exciting event
reached the final table stage, even the first man to
fall from the final table collected a cheque for over
$36 000.
The heads up on event 17 saw 'csimmsux' and 'ABU-BILAL'
fight it out for the $ 488 175 grand prize, with 'csimmsux'
victorious, leaving his opponent with a second placing
cheque for $ 307 762.50. As with the main event,
six-figure rewards went to five of the finalists.
