Monthly Grand Tournament boosted by 50 percent


Online poker veteran Hollywood Poker has seriously upped the tournament ante on its monthly Grand Tournament offering, boosting the guarantee by a hefty 50 percent to $750 000.

Management's faith in the potential of the tournament has undoubtedly been bolstered by its growing popularity, which culminated in 846 entrants in the December event, generating a $846 000 prize pool.

The Grand is a No-Limit Hold'em freezout with a $10 000 starting stack of chips and 30-minute blind structure. The format is a three day heat process that takes place on the last weekend of each month beginning on a Friday. Players have the option of two starting days, and those who survive from both heats automatically earn a ticket to the final with the chip stacks from the flights carried over.

To qualify for The Grand Tournament, players can also advance through several daily qualifier tournaments for as little as $1+20¢ buy-ins.
