Big winners in regular tournaments

This weekend's main online poker tournaments continued to generate plenty of action and player registrations for some excellent prizepools.

Poker Stars.com guaranteed Sunday million competition drew 2 768 ambitious poker players, who happily paid the buy-in for the $500+30 event in order to get a crack at the $1 384 000 prizepool, which put the best 414 survivors in the money bubble and made possible a winner's paycheck of over a quarter of a million dollars.

The final pair in the heads up was westmenloAA vs. maxout12, with the former finally dominating the final moments to pocket a massive winner's paycheck of $254 157 and some change. Maxout12 pulled $129 404 from pool for a second place.

The hard fought final table eventually produced a heads up between Klovnen and GDSC, with latter holding a significant 4 to 1 chip count advantage.

40 hands later the two were still going hammer and tongs until Klovnen finally beat the man - and the chip advantage - to collect the $77 832 winner's check. GDSC picked up a second prize of $47 799 for his trouble.

Mansion Poker's $100 000 daily tournament continued to prove a major attraction, with a record 684 players joining up for Sunday's contest, which saw 81 players making the money bubble. The heads up between loser.ru and Evgene produced some excitement and solid action before the former, giving the lie to his "handle" of loser.ru prevailed, walking off with the winner's purse of $23 500. Evgene scored $14 500 for his second place.

A five way deal at the final table added spice to the Party Poker.com $200 000 guaranteed competition, which saw 1 313 sign-ups and a prize poolthat just topped the $262 600 mark, placing the last 150 spots in the money. Well into the final table, those the five players stilol standing agreed on a 5 way deal, which meant that the eventual winner, mirumir collected $31 453.10 instead of the projected $55 416 for the top spot. Over at Bodog Poker.com, the $200 000 guaranteed tournament - a newly boosted tourney guarantee - drew in 1 909 players, with 270 of them cashing. Adanthar and timosy clashed in the final heads up, with the former winning the main pprize of $ 39 340 and his last opponent taking home $19 800.
