MORE MILLIONS IN LATEST ISILDUR1 ACTION
4 December 2009
Sahamies and mystery Swede go at it hammer
and tongs
The roller coaster that is Isildur1 hit the online poker
high stakes tables again Sunday in three epic clashes
with Finnish pro Ilari Sahamies that saw millions cross
the table...and back again.
In two different
million dollar confrontations, the two started playing
over 4 different $500/$1 000 Pot-Limit Omaha tables that
saw some spectacular bluffs and calls, including one
massive pot of almost $710 000 - taken by Sahamies. But
it didn't help the Finn to win, as Isildur1 dominated
the 1 060 hand exchange to finish the session with $1.3
million of the Finn's bankroll, according to MarketPulse
statistics.
Never one to take a beating easily,
Sahamies was back for another try just over an hour
later and the duo resumed the battle on the Full Tilt
$500/$1 000 PLO tables, this time in a session that
lasted for only half-an-hour. And again Sahamies took a
pounding, breaking off when he was down $111 000.
The fighting Finn stewed over his second defeat for
less than two hours before logging on again, presumably
in an attempt to recoup his losses to the mystery Swede.
And he did it handsomely, taking Isildur1 on over 1 882
hands in three hours of heavy $500/$1 000 PLO action
across five virtual tables to win back $1.3 million from
his Swedish opponent.
The hammering still left
Isildur1 almost $630 000 up on the night, and in profit
of almost $2 million overall since his dramatic
appearance on Full Tilt in September this year on a high
stakes thriller of a journey that has seen his bankroll
as high at one time as $5 million.
