INTRALOT BUYS INTO ONLINE POKER SOFTWARE PROVIDER
4 December 2009
Getting into Cyberarts could be a good move
in the event of US legalisation
The respected US-based online poker software developer
Cyberarts, famed for its flexible Foundation platform,
is now 35 percent owned by Greek lottery provider
Intralot's interactive subsidiary I2, which has also
cornered the right to increase its involvement to a
majority holding.
I2 md Andreas Papoulias said
this week that the move into Cyberarts not only expanded
his company's online gaming capabilities, but could be
useful positioning in the event of a liberalisation of
both the European and US markets.
It is
understood that Intralot coughed up some $12 million for
the stake in Cyberarts.
