$167 283 prize purse for poker pro
Joanne "JJ" Liu added to her $2 million-plus career
winnings over the past 12 years last week when she took
down the ninth edition of the Venetian Deep Stack
Extravaganza Main Event. The $2 500 buy-in, NLHE
tournament attracted 233 entrants and generated a total
prize pool of $539 628.
The final table comprised Liu, Ulises Roman, Nicholas
Sliwinski, Richard Dinunzio, Stewart Yancik, Anasavanh
Sitivong, Blake Cahail, Christopher MacNeil and Randy
Dorfman.
"JJ" clinched the game after a tough heads up against
Ulises Roman, winning the first place prize of $167 283,
and the second place payday of $98 212 went to her
opponent.
The ME win was Liu's third largest to date, and the
eighth straight major prize for Liu, boosting her career
income to over $ 2 million.
