THIS WIN MAY CHEER MIZZI UP

Hot Internet poker ace truimphs in Tournament
Titan
For the last few weeks Internet poker ace Sorel Mizzi
has had a lot of negativity to contend with following
his run-in with Full Tilt Poker, along with Chris
Vaughan, the ex-managing editor of Bluff Magazine. Both
men were caught cheating in an online poker tournament
at Full Tilt, and this resulted in their win being
disqualified and the confiscation of significant
winnings.
This week was more positive, at least for Canadian-based
Mizzi, who won what is claimed as the biggest sit 'n go
poker tournament ever staged online - the Tournament
Titan staged by Playtech-powered Titan Poker. Mizzi
defeated an exclusive field of nineteen other players
from across the globe to take home a first prize package
valued at $200 000, including cash and a seat at the
upcoming 2008 39th World Series of Poker Main Event.
Titan claims that the tournament, which featured a
guaranteed million dollar prize pool, was the richest
sit 'n' go tournament yet staged on the Internet.
Players qualified by reaching the final table at a tough
group of cash tournaments or by winning a Player Points
race staged by the popular online poker room.
It took more than a year for the elite list to be
achieved, with Mizzi who uses the online 'handle'
"Imper1um" making the cut. Although just 21, Mizzi has
made a name for himself in both land and Internet poker
competitions, amassing an estimated winnings chest in
his short but active career of well over half a million
dollars.
