UK firm Cashcade makes a Foxy move in acquiring
bingo and other mobile games
Mobile gambling specialist company Cometa Wireless has
signed a partnership agreement with Cashcade, an
important UK online interactive gaming provider.
The agreement will see Cometa providing Cashcade with a
complete mobile gaming solution – including Cometa's
patented Arcadia technology – and leading casino games
portfolio.
The first title to be released will be a mobile version
of Cashcade's hugely popular Foxy Bingo brand, which is
due to hit the market in January 2008.
Cashcade boasts over 800 000 players generating revenue
of over GBP 2 million across sites including Foxy Bingo
and Get Minted. In mid 2007 the company acquired two
other major bingo sites in the UK, making it one of
largest online bingo businesses around with over 60 000
active players a month.
“The mobile market is rapidly becoming a vital channel
for online gambling providers,” says Simon Collins, the
CEO of Cashcade. “Players no longer have to be at home,
in front of their computer. The ubiquity of mobile and
the convenience of the phone in the user's pocket or
purse makes it a unique way for players to interact, no
matter where they are. With consumers working longer
hours and commuting long distances, the attraction of
having their favourite online services at their
fingertips is hard to beat.”
Cometa Wireless is providing a complete turnkey service
for Cashcade. The company has created the Arcadia
platform, which is specifically designed to provide
consumers with a fast, secure and convenient way to
interact with casino style games. The technology ensures
the user experience is fluid and fun – qualities often
overlooked in mobile gambling services, Cometa claims –
yet still maintains the strictest levels of security and
quality.
“We're very pleased to be working with a company which
has as much experience and reach as Cashcade,” says Rob
Anderson, the chief executive of Cometa Wireless.
“Cometa's focus has always been on the quality of the
user experience and giving players the best possible
service through their mobile handset. We created our
Arcadia technology and all of our games based on that
basic principle and we're seeing some fantastic usage
and feedback based on that.”
Cashcade has been active in the gaming space for over 6
years and have in that time been both software developer
and marketing organisation. Most recently the company
has promoted IGT casino software as well as Casavas
bingo software for clients such as SMG, Trinity Mirror,
P&O and Attheraces. Additionally, the business has
developed its own brands in Getminted.com and Foxy
Bingo.
The business, which is privately owned with investors
including IN&M (owners of the Independent newspaper) as
well as Mountrgrange, a London based property company,
manages over 800 000 players and generates GGR in excess
of GBP 40 million a year.
