CHANGE OF THE EDITORIAL GUARD AT POKER PUBLICATION
7 August 2009
Bluff Magazine professional joins Poker News
as editor-in-chief
The start of August 2009 sees a new man in charge at the
respected poker publication "Poker News".
Matthew Parvis, who has four years in editorial
management at rival Bluff Magazine on his resume, joins
Poker News as editor-in-chief, taking over from Haley
Hintz who herself took over from longtime editorial boss
John Caldwell in early 2009 (see previous InfoPowa
report).
"While my time with Bluff was amazing
and I'm very thankful for my experiences there, I am
beyond thrilled to be now associated with the largest
and most respected poker media website in the world,"
said Parvis this week.
"Over the next month, you
will immediately begin to see the transformation of
PokerNews.com as we'll be bringing you more news,
lifestyle and entertainment, gossip, forum buzz,
politics, interviews, and strategy than ever before. Our
tech team is also hard at work rebuilding PokerNews.com,
which will hopefully be launched within the next month
or two. The new design will ensure that with all this
new content comes a new look and feel that better
reflects the editorial direction we'll be taking."
Hintze had earlier announced her departure,
describing it as part of an ongoing transition in
editorial outlook.
“I enjoyed my time at
PokerNews and I wish them all the best in their future
efforts," said Hintze.
