BETTING ON SKILLS SITE ENTERS BETA

Bringit.com nears operational status
Bringit.com, whose business model envisages video gamers
betting on the outcome of online matches between members
utilising the "skill" loophole (see previous InfoPowa
report), is a step closer to full operations this week
as it launches in Beta mode.
The site supports
action through PlayStation 2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii,
with players challenging each other on the Internet
site, but playing against each other online on their
consoles. The site keeps track of who won and arranges
payouts, minus a service fee.
Bringit claims that
its service is legal in 39 States, mainly because video
games are games of skill, not chance. Exceptions are
Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa,
Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, Tennessee and Vermont.
