Pamela Brunson takes WPT Ladies Night 5 title
Poker really does get passed down through the genes it
seems! Step forward Pamela Brunson – she’s just claimed
her first major poker tournament triumph by winning the
World Poker Tour (WPT) Ladies Night V at the Bicycle
Casino in Los Angeles.
Pamela saw off competition from the likes of Evelyn Ng
and Kathy Liebert to claim the first prize of more than
$34 000 and a seat in the prestigious WPT Ladies Night
Out which will be held on August 31st.
Brunson will sit at the table alongside some of the
world’s top female pros, namely Linda Johnson, Mimi
Tran, Kristy Gazes, Melissa Hayden and JJ Liu, who won
the tournament last year. The winner will get a $25 000
seat into the WPT World Championship next year.
Pamela is the daughter of Doyle Brunson, an
international poker legend who needs no further
introduction. Having a genius poker player for a father
helps, of course - but the tournament triumph was all
down to Pamela. She was delighted to secure one of the
biggest wins on the circuit, saying: “I am so excited!
Apart from a seat into the WPT Ladies Night Out - an
invitational event - playing against five women poker
players - I also won a beautiful ring, a pink poker chip
set, jacket and, of course, the trophy that crowns me
LPA Tour No-Limit Hold’em Tournament winner – at least,
that’s what the trophy says!”
When not collecting major prizes, Pamela is one of the
ambassadors for Dad's popular Doyles Room.com online
poker room and can be found regularly honing her skills
on the site.
