FORUM MEMBER HITS A BIG ONE
24 August 2007
$117 248 video poker win, but getting paid by
instalments could be a bummer
Members of a popular online gambling forum shared in
the excitement of a fellow poster this week shortly
after he stared in disbelief at a computer screen that
showed that the Ace King and 10 combination he held had
been joined by the Queen and the Jack, rewarding him
with a progressive bonanza worth $117 248.
Big winner Gavin recently graduated at a UK university
with an Environmental Science degree, and has plans for
extending his education to a Masters in Climate
Change....but first he plans to travel widely, which the
big win will certainly help.
"It will also fund my further study," he said. "Not
being in debt at the end of Uni is a huge relief To be
honest, it's my first ever really big win and such a
large amount of money that I think it will take a while
to sink in!"
The only downside is that Boss Media-powered Pharaoh's
Casino.com wants to pay Gavin $20 000 down and the rest
in $10 000 a month instalments without interest. Given
that progressive pools are usually held in such a way
that the software provider pays out in cash, this is a
development on which the player is seeking clarity.
Gavin was not the only big winner this week - reports
have come in of a $418 835 hit on the Microgaming
powered progressive slot Major Millions. When we went to
press details had still not emerged on this.
