20 000 CROWD POKERSTARS TOURNAMENTS
3 August 2007
Weekend's action hectic on the world's biggest
online poker site
Initial reports on the weekend's online poker tournament
activity at Poker Stars.com indicate a full and
action-packed weekend attended by over 20 000 entrants
to popular events such as the Sunday Hundred Grand, the
Sunday Warm-up, the Sunday Million and the High-Stakes
Showdown.
Poker Stars still accepts American poker players in
tourneys that build significant prize-pools and
therefore big winner payouts.
Illustrative of these high end prizes is the biggest of
the regular Sunday tournaments - the Sunday Million.
This weekend, despite a four-way chop that left an extra
$30 000 for the first place finisher, the main prize
easily topped $150 000.
Canadian player Zutzman pocketed $152 537.87 for the
win, with Finnish runner-up Pehtoori taking home $134
484 and the third and fourth finishers also breaking the
$100 000 payout level.
