Texas cops bust trailer casino
Officers from the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's office in
East Texas mounted a raid on a mobile casino with a
difference this week - it was operating from a
doublewide mobile home!
Nearly 50 people face
charges as a result of the raid, a police spokesman
disclosed.
Authorities say the raid on the casino
trailer in a rural area resulted in the confiscation of
71 eight-liner gambling machines, and some $15 000 in
cash. Eight alleged casino workers face gambling-related
charges, whilst almost 40 patrons were issued with Class
C misdemeanor gambling citations, which carry a maximum
fine of $500.
Sheriff Thomas Kerss says the
alleged operators were making daily bank deposits. The
money trail helped lead authorities to the illegal
gaming.
