Portal giant will operate on Boss Media's network

Fronted by journalist and media personality Sam Mann, the UK operations of giant portal Yahoo! launched real money online poker play this week in a three way deal that sees Gibraltar-based St Minver provide and operate a white label site that uses Boss Media software and provides the player liquidity of the growing Boss International Poker Network. The network currently has over 21 sites offering games and tournaments around the world.

The Yahoo! UK and Ireland Games site at http://uk.poker.games.yahoo.net/yahoopoker/poker/home/index.html also supports real money Bingo.

Both gambling sites are fully operational and powered by Sweden-based Boss Media AB software, which is used by well known online gambling brands like Sportingbet, Bwin, and William Hill. U.S. players are barred from real money play on the site.

The entry into the market of such a large organisation, using software widely respected as professional and attractive may provide significant additional competition to the more established online sector market leaders like Poker Stars and Party Poker.
