Season 6 to be held in Barcelona this October

International poker players will be gathering in the vibrant Spanish coastal city of Barcelona this October following an announcement by the World Poker Tour that its Season 6 itinerary is to include Spain.

Scheduled for the Casino Barcelona owned by Grup Peralada in the city, this fourteenth WPT tournament will be filmed

The WPT - Grup Peralada collaboration could be the start of a closer relationship going forward; the two organisations are discussing future poker ventures in Spain and the possibility of a Spanish tour that would televise events at Grup Peralada casinos elsewhere together with new ideas for Portugal and South America.

Characterising the partnership as a ground breaking deal, WPT CEO Steve Lipscomb said: "This is a very important move for us as we continue to expand our business in the European market."

Grup Peralada casino division chief Oliver Zugel agreed, commenting: "It will create a new standard for premium, televised poker events in Europe and lay the groundwork for an Iberian tour involving other leading casinos in Spain and Portugal."
