MAGICAL MARC WINS $400 000 ON MICROGAMING POKER
NETWORK
20 April 2007
Weekend success for EPT runner-up
Marc Karam may have just missed the top European Poker
Tour prize in his heads up with Gavin Griffin recently,
leaving with the second place check of Euros 1 061 820,
but he went on to score bigtime in high stakes games on
the Microgaming Poker Network, according to statistics
published on the High Stakes database website this week.
Taking a well earned break, the high-stakes pro headed
for the Internet and Microgaming's poker network, where
some audacious and highly skilled play in the No-Limit
Hold'em tables boosted his bank balance by a further
$400 000.
Karam started off slow, reports High Stakes, losing a
$124 000 pot just after the start of a $200/$400
No-Limit Hold'em session last Friday.
But the pro recovered fast and by 10 p.m. that evening
was up $150 000, taking big pots from players Dadovic
and luckexpress, among others, along the way. His
biggest coup came in a hand against Dadovic, when he hit
a diamond flush on the turn and showed it down for a
$148 380 pot.
By Sunday, Karam's stack had reached $487 987 and after
five players joined the table, he ended up leaving with
a profit of almost $400 000.
