My Last Two Correspondences With Rushmore

Just to clarify Heather.....Vinyl actually said "they" meaning "someone from Rushmore"....not you personally, which I thought was quite obvious.

Actually I think it's fair to say that it goes a lot further than that. What Bryan had originally said was:

In other words the Dublin thing was just letting them know that if they were there it would be an easy way to get rolling on things. I think it's clear that all doors are open to them, not just the door for a Dublin meeting. The fact that they've done sweet FA -- about any of it! -- should tell us all where they really stand.

As to declaring the thread and issue "indeed closed" I respectfully suggest it is not. Nothing has actually been resolved and the greater issues are apparently unchanged.

Perhaps what you mean to say is that you are withdrawing from the field of open discussion and will now conduct your business from behind the safety of your emailer. That's very much a different thing than "indeed closed".

For anyone who might have missed the early stages of this the short version of the story is that "Heather" has tried to bluster and BS her way into having us believe that (a) there never was a problem at Rushmore and she's here now to do whatever is necessary to get things done. That soon became (b) "maybe there was a teensy problem that effected almost no one but that was all taken care of and things are super-peachy now". This then morphed into (c) "forget about what may have happened" and "let's all be friends 'cause I'm Ms. Perky-Pants and that should be enough to sweep all that nasty old business under the carpet". And now it's (d) "got a problem? Leave a message and maybe someone will do something."

Yeah, "indeed closed" to be sure. I suppose that at least we can count on there now being fewer attempts to paint a cow pie to look like a bouquet of roses.

Also, there seems to be a bit of confusion, so just to clear things up - there was no stop payment or cancellation put on the checks because by the time this was brought to our attention the checks had already been cashed for 5 months. After a check is cashed the processor no longer has the ability to cancel it.

I did not snub brian when asked to meet in Dublin - again, as I stated previously, I was not in Dublin. It's difficult to set up a personal meeting when the persons involved are in different countries. :)

Poor Heather!

She is really missing a point here.
The people here that are bashing her and Rushmore now, is the exact same people that actually once helped them before.
With the staus and reputation they gain here before a lot of people looked up to them considering them as a well runned company, promoted them and sent them players.
It's not the people here that have changed. It's the casino that changed for the worse.

They and Heather seems to be surprised that a sorry isn't enough for us to start praising them again. Trust is earned and they havn't done anything yet that would make me trust them again, and probably not so many others either:(

IMHO she was sent here to do a job, namely to bury the Rushmore legacy (see here for a brief intro to said legacy). That has not gone as planned so now she -- and more importantly the people behind her actions -- are retreating to a defensive position. It's a textbook corporate PR screw-up, no more and no less.

I think it only fair to say that we should not and would not begrudge Heather her attempt(s) to put the Rushmore past to rest IF the attempt was sincere AND they were committed to doing better now. If either of these is false or they are unable to deliver then it's really just more BS and IS NOT something we should respect nor support.

My problem is that I don't believe the attempt was sincere. Heather has tried to pretend there never was a problem -- I would suggest she's distorted the truth by effectively denying there ever was a real and systemic attempt to withhold player monies -- and that's not too smart given the history and the memories of players.

And secondly I don't believe there is a real will to change, nor even honestly deal with the messes of the past. Perhaps they have found the "processor problems" excuse is just too useful to let go of. Perhaps they're financially crippled and they're doing "the best" they can. Maybe both. Whatever the truth of it the bottom line is that they've played fast and loose with player money in the past and they appear to be willing to continue to do so now and in the foreseeable future.

For those reasons our suspicions and scepticism of Heather's efforts are completely justified. When Rushmore people -- and I mean the people with the power to make decisions not just forum posts -- are ready to step up and do the right thing I think players can and will welcome their efforts. In the meantime sending the foot soldiers out with half-hearted attempts to BS us all into a stupor is rather less welcome and fully deserving of a short, sharp rejection that will hopefully register back at Rushmore HQ.

You know, for the most part I really only poke my head in around here to make a few jokes and then wander off. Every once in a while I accidentally get "involved." Maybe something didn't add up or something seemed a little weird. Then I stick my nose in and forget to pull it out.

The odd thing about Heather's arrival was how happy she was to be here, how little of this casino's past they thought would be remembered and how excited they thought we would all be to hear the same excuses that tossed them in the pit in the first place.

If I had been given the job of representing a casino with a history of stalling and withholding payments to a forum where many of these unpaid players still frequent and even more members vividly remember the downfall from a trusted organization to a group of thieves that still hold money that does not belong to them with no intention of paying it out to it's rightful owners - I would not show up with a perky smile.

If you want to be taken seriously then be serious. If you want to be trusted then be honest. We can send smileys back and forth and discuss the weather with each other all day long. What we need from someone in your position is serious, honest answers and quick as possible solutions. Rushmore has made itself the enemy. That is what you are representing. I'm sure everyone here would be happy to see Rushmore turn itself around but don't expect very many members here to curl up beside you for a good cuddle along the way.

If I had Heather's job the best approach in my opinion would have been to walk in and say "Yes, Rushmore screwed people, we had serious money problems and still owe a lot of people money. Now we want to get our ass out of this sling. So you tell me how to fix it." And it wouldn't have been accompanied with a bunch of happy faced smileys.

Maybe it's just me but I just wouldn't have been so bloody happy about it.
 
For what it's worth, I miss Louise and the fact that she left the Rusmore Group is a 'heads up' that this group was beneath her.

I hope that Louise will find a casino that she can excell in. If I see her as a rep, in an accredited casino, I would feel confident to , at least, sign up there and see how it goes.

AT least Louise knew when to bow out...and she did try her best with us but it became to much as her overheads just kept on saying,"No".

Heather contacted me and told me that after this weekend I will either receive new checks or the money will be deposited back into my Rushmore account. I'm so happy that this issue will be resolved. I also hope that Rushmore will get out of the Rogue pit. Thank you Heather!

I noticed that but "resend your deposit" makes no sense since the casino never sent a deposit.

Unless they plan to put his original deposit back in his account but if they did that it would have to be considered a confiscation of winnings which would require a breach of t&c's since putting anything back in his account would be an admittance that the original withdrawal was never paid.

I'm pretty sure she meant "resend your withdrawal." ;)

Okay, I just went back and reread Heather's last post and bolded two phrases...a little contradictory???
 
I think they used to pay out in cheques until they stopped using the processor that processed David's withdrawal. Now they no longer pay out in cheques.

I'm just curious that the email David received was dated before last weekend and stated that a decision would be made "after the weekend" then everything went dead.

It's almost the next weekend. What happened?
 
I actually did receive a check from them in February from a tournament win the 1st of December. I somehow managed to get in that short time period where they sent some out and it cleared my bank. They really need to get their stories straight!:rolleyes:
