Immortal Romance 2 is coming soon! All that was basically said is it will have 4 increasing jackpots each tied to a character from the terrible news release.

Same studio that butchered Thunderstruck 2 with two awful sequels - so I don't hold out much hope.

At this point I group "Microgaming" IP (I refer to it as that, even though they've sold it) under GamesGlobal in with NetEnt IP under Evolution - popular IPs being exploited to release utter dross that is usually unfaithful to the original idea, and will be forgotten about in a few weeks or months.

MG slots became terrible the moment HTML5 appeared and took over flash / viper.
Very true, between HTML5 and the obsession with mobile-first (particularly download sizes, given viper was quite a portly piece of software) a lot of shortcuts and compromises were taken - and while the quality of the games improved after the third or fourth rework, they were still short of the flash experience (and as people have mentioned in other threads, some bugs still remain to this day unfixed).

Also, it mentions "72 days" to launch - which would put it at the end of May.

I think it's 'aight.

Give players the chance to win back the original Flash game's RTP, via 'jackpots', all within a worsened HTML user interface and based on the Twilight series and vampire fad that ended twelve years ago!

Come on everybody!

Lots of hype around for it, but nothing good ever really came out of Stormcraft so I don't imagine this will be any different.

The company is to blame for this though not HTML5 itself. You can do some amazing stuff with HTML5. A sloppy job is a sloppy job whether its a new piece of software or a conversion

I'm surprised no one has mentioned how frequently MG is releasing slots these days. I mean, for me, I've been noticing new slots being released on a weekly basis. Not one slot either.. sometimes I see 3 or 4 at a time per week.

I know better than to play them, of course. Because I know that there's an ultra high probability that they'll be trash.

MG doesn't believe in QUALITY over QUANTITY.

That's because they don't, Microgaming sold the slot portfolio to Games Global.

As for Games Global, they release a lot of slots - and very few of them stand out... lots of copies of other popular designs, lots of repeats, and of course butchering the MG catalogue with sequels that more often than not miss the point of what made the original so popular.

As a follow-up to the attention to detail tangent. In 2019, Stormcraft released the "original game soundtrack" for Immortal Romance on Spotify, YouTube Music and so on - with 9 tracks.

Anyone who remembers the actual original OST from Microgaming will recall there are 10 tracks, and it appears that Corridors of Time (Michael) is missing.

Unfortunately, Stormcraft hijacked the original IR website for the "10 year celebration", so the original OST download appears to be gone from the web. A shortened version of the 10th track appears on the Stormcraft website except you can't listen to that either because the cursor is hijacked by a "scroll to navigate" icon 🤡 Fortunately versions of it still survive on YouTube (and you can probably yoink it from the game files if you were so inclined).

But hey, they have a "passion for quality and innovation"... How wrong Microgaming were in 2018...

Lol....it seems they at least tried, with a 1024-way Wild Desire and increased 'potential' to over 15,000x. Michael now has a hipster beard, Amber has been 'tanned up' a bit for diversity and should now be known as Sienna haha. Troy looks like he's just been arrested outside some public bogs in L.A. for cottaging while Sarah has been given some eyewear as a more studious persona has been deemed necessary.

You can get some pretty big multipliers in the bonus now, there's a few things borrowed from TSII here.

I'm sure it will not fail to disappoint.

Makes sense. When I actually clicked on a release by mistake once, I did see Games Global on the loading screen. My casino puts the MG emblem on the picture of the slot, so I was thinking it was MG releasing these abominations of games on a weekly basis.

Thanks for the clarification.

Oh wait.. It's coming up as Quickfire now instead of Microgaming

I assume it's the same shit?

Yeah bit disappointed again. I've stopped releasing the Power Combo / Fixed jackpots by games global about 2 years ago, unless the game is a spin off of a known title. However, this one I might skip. I really don't get it that with 10+ studios who proceduce games, you have to apply that fixed jackpot mechanic on 95% of your games.

This month they release 26 games, I opted to release only one of those 26 as that one didnt had a fixed jackpot mechanic.

Quickfire was their distribution platform, which apparently they also sold to Games Global (so Microgaming Quickfire becomes Games Global Quickfire).

Somewhat at a loss what Microgaming has left then - they have a "platform system" when seems to be yet another back-end platform (which will also be used by Games Global, as a client), and then the "sports betting" which has one client - Betway.

That would be Stormcraft Studios, who actually I believe developed the original Thunderstruck Slot and also Immortal Romance. So if anyone is going to butcher the sequel, only fair it is them :)

We actually interviewed Terence Igesund from Stormcraft here on Casinomeister back in September 2021.
