Youtube vs AdBlocker

So I've been following along with this, tried a few things and so far haven't been happy with anything enough that I'd be willing to count on it.

What boggles my mind though is why is Youtube asking so much for the monthly fee. That's ridiculous! It's more than any other media subscription we have. More than Netflix, more than Apple, more than ... you name it. If they'd just offer a reasonably priced subscription -- 5 a month or something -- people would pay it easy-peasy. I know I certainly would. Asking a silly price just forces people to search for ways around it.

this one worked for me all you have to do switch off all adblockers accept ads and activate >>>>

Ublock stopped working 1 or 2 days ago.
Imo youtube is completely unusable without an adblocker, and as Maxd already pointed out the premium subscription is much too pricey.

If they want money from me they have to have a sensible offer, otherwise i will find spend the time it takes to bypass it.

yee like 3-4 payment not paying for youtube, i dont think is worth paying £12pm my IPTV cost £6

I reckon eventually these extensions and custom scripts might only be a temporary fix, and they won't last long, as users will need to continually search for new versions whenever YouTube updates. Also, i'm pretty sure right now they are still testing and training their YouTube algorithms on user behaviors.

My girlfriend doesn't have even ad blockers on her laptop, yet YouTube wants her to disable adblocking. Yesterday she was going nuts for about an hour since she couldn't watch her stuff lol...

One i was blocked from watching YT and then decided to just let those ads run. I simply fine-tuned my preferences in the settings and now i don't see anything that i would get mad about. A couple of ads a day, that's all right. :D

To personalize YT ads, see the link at the bottom of this page:

. Get rid of companies that serve ads, and topics you're not interested in. Also, if you see ads that you don't like, click on ads control and tick them as irrelevant to you.

Ublock origin still works fine with Firefox and Brave.

Clearing caches might work:
You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.

Newpipe on phone, Smarttube on Tv and Ublock origin+FF on PCs -> No ads (Smarttube also has sponsorblock, which is very nice) here so far.

Try telling the internet what to to, and see the opposite results. Google should know this, their motto used to be "don't be evil".

How things have changed.

That worked.
And since this advice came from a lawer that means:

I was on my 3rd strike before YT would block playback. Downloaded brave browser - no more adds - no need to install any blockers - just keep the browser up to date. I still use FF as my main browser but only watch YT on Brave. Of course that might change but they keep updating the browser to stay ahead of the add block ban.

You can use Togetherprice to join someone's "family" and split the costs of premium a few ways, That's what I do.

Brave is just re-skin of Chrome, I was ban from watching youtube, I add this one

got unband and no ads

Brave uses the Chromium codebase but has its own features. Just as Samsung and HTC phones both run on Android, but both are two different things with their own stuff on them. With Brave you don't need adblockers, it has an inbuilt one by default. Simply go to "Shields" and set it to "Disabled"

Those YT adblocker warnings see also people who don't even use adblockers. My girlfriend is one of them. She's using Chrome and has no extensions installed.

By the way,

almost weekly so these tricks with adblockers or custom scripts likely become useless when they're installed on Chrome. Chrome and YouTube are tied, and both are Google properties.

Did you mean set "Trackers & ads blocking" shield to something else than "Disabled" (i.e Standard/Aggressive). 🤔

If you disable the shields, they work poorly.

I missed out there to mention AdNauseam. If you're only using Brave, then it's on Aggressive. But if you decide to have Brave + AdNauseam, then it's recommended to set in on Disabled. Personally, i'm happy with Brave on its own.

I was reading about

, and they mentioned keeping it on "Disabled". Which is likely the best setting for their script to work with Brave. But i don't know what's the point of having it if Brave blocks ads by default anyway.

Yep, I believe the consensus is either shields enabled and no adblocker, or disable the shields if adblocker is used. At least this is kind of recommended with ublock origin as well. Although they behave slightly differently in use, the differences are pretty minimal for most users.

I personally use Firefox + ublock origin for most things, but have Brave as a secondary browser for some things. I like to tinker with browsers and Firefox is the most customizable browser imo. Plus is not a chromium based one.

My personal workaround is to buy cheaper Premium, using Argentinian address (you might need to switch to Argentinian VPN to be able to buy).

YouTube announced 250% price increase next month, but it is still cheaper than in EU. And with Family plan it is really good.

now all videos will get recommended to that place you paid for, YT not worth paying for
