We all know Bonanza :) but figure it would be cool to see what other play as there are so many around now :)
for thos who give me there favorite before 1PM saturday i will give them a bash this weekend
lets see who comes out on top

Forget Megaways, play PG Softs versions like Rise of Apollo and Jurassic Kingdom. The mechanic is called Wilds-On-The-Way and there are around 6 titles I have found. Find them much better than Megaways but with similar gameplay.

But, to answer your question, here are the three that don't scare me and my bank balance:

White Rabbit
Genie Jackpot Megaways
Primal Megaways

I prefer MW slots with no bonus buy feature, it plays better in the base game, well for me at least.

Primal Megaways - Blueprint
Who wants to be a Millionaire - BTG
Odin infinity Reels - Reel Play
Dragon Fire Megaways - Red Tiger
Maze Escape Megaways - Fantasma

I think the Blueprint ones like Safari Gold, Primal, or Big Cat King to name just a few are really well done but I've more or less given up on them since they mostly take an eternity to bonus and even then they have the audacity to only give a 20x or so.

I like best the "classic" Pragmatic Play ones. Nice design, nice graphics, nice sound effects, easy to distinguish the symbols, good feature frequency, occasional great wins. The newer ones not so much.

I couldn't name a top 5 list, but I can easily name top 1, and frequenters of the "Winner Screenshots" threads will already have guessed it:
Great Rhino Megaways

I don't think that game ever gave me a bonus over 150X and I'm not kidding. I must have bought literally hundreds in the hope that it must be good at somepoint.
It treats me quite well but I play with the enhanced bet OFF. Gave me a modest 213x bonus last weekend.

Who Wants To Be a Millionaire by BTG wins hands down in my book, followed by Danger! High Voltage.

Third place goes to Primal Megaways by Blueprint, even though Bitstarz Scaled-down their Blueprint offerings to about 5 slots from them with the only megaways from Blueprint available to play there being that silly Donkey Kong one which I don't like.

I agree that Blueprint found something that BTG didn't (*cough* bonus guarantees *cough*) - Primal is one of the best out there; WWTBAM would have been difficult to screw up given the iconic music but BTG did a good job incorporating the show features into the bonus round; White Rabbit was a great game but also opened the bonus buy hellhole; and as much as I avoid Pragmatic, Curse of the Werewolf was a well-executed variation of Pink Elephant.

As an aside, it's telling how diluted the "megaways" branding has become that quite a few suggestions in this thread aren't megaways slots... although to be fair, there are slots out there that have paid for "megaways" in the title that wouldn't be considered megaways slots either 🤣

I'm still amazed how it's done so well though - the potential was misleading (and often still is), and the only part of it that seemed new is the top box as a way to disguise how bent the reels were doing that odd-even stuff all the time. Now-a-days I'm more likely to avoid megaways games, if you need the branding as a crutch (BTG aside, since it's their brand) then you probably don't have enough of a game worth playing.

Lucky sod ;)

In 5 years of playing, I am yet to hit a max win on anything.

Play around 3/4 times per week, and reckon I must get several wins a year that break the 1,000x-win barrier.

Perhaps I should play more Megaways.
I’ve also hit a base game spin max win on Fruit Party. I play once per week on average, and have only been playing for four years (online slots that is). Minimum stakes and £50/$60 deposits.

I am pretty lucky overall, and I have pre-set limits on each slot I play which seems to be working for me.

I made bank nearly every month for almost two years. That was from £20/30 deposits.

Never searched for a bonus, just played the balance. This sounds far-fetched, even to me now, but my pal and I used to do 10 spins on a slot and then leave if it was not paying. Our go-to games that spring to mind were Gonzos Quest, Jack and the Beanstalk, Immortal Romance, Dead or Alive, Gemix, Sweet Alchemy, etc.

Year three RTP nerfing took effect. Didn't affect me too much but I definitely felt duped for a while after realising it was probably affecting my game time and withdrawals.

Now I sometimes depo 50 or 100, (occasionally 200 if I am feeling frisky and there is an attractive bonus on the table) betting bigger, chasing bonus rounds and trying new games. I don't make as many withdrawals. 2023 was my worst year yet. Not problematic, but noticeably different.

Though slots are random it is undeniable there is a strategy to managing your money, choosing games, and also how long you stay on them or are prepared to commit. I am hunting bigger wins nowadays, and as a result, am prepared to lose a little more and play tougher games.

Never really played Pragmatic funnily enough.

When you say 'preset limits' do you mean that you set a budget on each slot? how much do you give on average?

Edit. Silly me.. Danger! High Voltage isn't actually a megaways slot, is it

It goes something like this…

Deposit 50.00. Play first slot until one of the following happens:
- lose 10.00 (balance goes down to 40.00)
- win enough for balance to reach 60.00
- get bonus (and leave regardless of outcome)

Let’s say that at the end of this cycle my balance is 43.00. I rinse and repeat (limits being down to 33.00 or up to 53.00 or bonus achieved).

I never ever increase my bet. Always bet 0.20 or 0.25/0.30 if 0.20 is not available. Never ever higher than that.

This approach seems to work ok for me, and it allows me to play multiple slots with my deposit.

Then technically, you should be playing nosebleed variance NoLimit City slot.
I was, at one time, one of their biggest fans.

Pre-Deadwood I still like, anything after that, bar one or two, feels like flogging a dead horse to me. Trouble is, being UK, most are nerfed versions where I play so plenty of others to choose from. I don't entertain sub-standard RTP versions.

Chuck in extortionate bonus buys, apparent five scatter trigger on San Quentin impossible to hit in the base game, stupid feature that voids wins below bet size, and seemingly lacklustre effort to impress the player anymore (just my impression), I don't entertain them now.

I like Hacksaw. Most of their bonus rounds have paid me well, so I have been hunting. May go back to the way I used to do things - doesn't pay to go bonus hunting, unless you're a streamer, especially on Hacksaw.

I don't mind. My money, my choice. Just chewing the cud and may go back to being not so greedy :) Might land that max win when I am not searching for it - was always that way when pulling birds 😆

Thanks for sharing. This is a much better approach than hammering the same game all night - if you can manage to go all night nowadays.

Speaking not just from my own experience, but from what I know of gambling, discipline is key to making more money having more fun.

Well put.

Nolimit City have really out did themselves with one of their latest abominations called Nine to Five... with a maxwin bonus buy where you get one shot to either land it or lose X1400 or so stake to purchase it. Absolutely disastrous.
