Well - in case you haven't figured it out, I've been pretty much out of the loop for almost a year - and now I'm back. In May 2013, I made the decision that my kids deserved to experience life in the US - especially since they are teens and were keen on checking out the high school situation, and other things that kids need to do. My teenage daughter's meltdown of it's "all my fault" that she had never seen a HS football game was the catalyst. So we packed the suitcases and moved to San Diego last August with the intention of coming back the following summer...which is now.

So for the past 11 months, I didn't have much of an office. I was constantly distracted by goings on and living the So. Cal life. In other words, I was pretty much out of the loop and primarily focused only on the site's housekeeping and maintenance. And then to top it off, we went on a month long road trip through the States in June which ended just now.

So now I'm back, and it's good to be back home. A year away from Bierland is a bit too much. American beer - even most of the microbreweries - just doesn't cut it for me.

Anyway, as soon as the jet lag wears off, and I'm done partying with my friends here, I will definitely be back in the saddle again - for good.

Welcome back Brian!

Hope you and your family had a very excellent road trip, and that you enjoyed the time out

WB CM!

Glad your back, and i would like to point out the first thing on your agenda couldn't be anything else but the very important event titled
"Guts D.O.A. Championship 2014" :D

Jokes aside, like KK stated there hasn't been much going on, probably because it's so damn hot..
Good your in the saddle again!

Nothing much, unless you are a UK player that is.

We have just experienced our first overnight booting without advance notice from Vegas Partner Lounge. Some players didn't receive winnings from tournaments that finished after the booting, and others who were in the act of playing a tournament were suddenly unable to access this part of the software to complete it. A week later, the group is still trying to unpick the chaos, and a few UK players are still out of pocket. I am unable to continue the monthly €20,000 having started it in Crazy Vegas at a time when no announcement had been made, and a couple of days before what turned out to be a deadly accurate rumour was brought to our attention that the 17th July would see the booting of UK players from all but Casino UK.

Damn good job I acted on the rumour as though it were true. Waiting for an official announcement could have left me several thousands out of pocket due to the 999 continues nature of this tournament, with the technical problems stopping me from achieving the best possible position, and from receiving any prize promptly.

It seems lessons are never learned, as it was the same chaos for Spanish, French, and Italian players, and far from "scaremongering" about this as accused earlier in the year, the outcome has turned out to be WORSE than I had speculated because I didn't predict this kind of thing would start to happen until the Summer was over, and the change deadline was looming.

UK players STILL don't know where they stand, as the deadly accurate rumour goes on to say that Fortune Lounge are to close completely to UK players "some time in August". Players have been told nothing, but given the experience with Vegas Partner Lounge, I have already acted by finishing up with all Digimedia connected casinos until they make the situation clear as to whether there will still be a UK facing skin, and if so, which one.

Oops, just dawned on me that I spelt your name incorrectly in my previous post

Take 2: welcome back Bryan :)

lol, I wouldn't worry about it. He's been called a LOT worse! I have a list... :eek2: ;)

It is the same with my name. I have been called Hendrik. Henrick, Heinrik, and even worse, which I feel is very embarrassing for likes of affiliate managers etc my name is easy spelled out crying out loud LOL

Welcome back to meister beer land Mr. Bryan :notworthy:thumbsup:

Yeah, welcome back Bryan!
Unlike some I'll let you get in the door first before I kick-off......:)

My BF's name is Ray and my name's Cindy - last year we got a Christmas card from our Portuguese neighbor addressed to Rich and Sandy. :D

Would never have known you were away as you seem to have been here plenty since I joined, as others have said you have a great team behind you who kept the site running great. Glad you are back safe and hope your daughter got to see her HS football game in the end. Anyway good to see you are back home and hope you are already enjoying some decent beer:D

Welcome back! Now grab some beer I think you came back just in time for a UK shit storm! :D

The beer in my cellar expired six months ago, and it's still better than anything in the States. Which reminds me - the Bierfest was postponed until next week because of my absence. I just didn't want to point that out last month :p

You really love your family.
One year with RTG and beer like drinks. Nice to see you back. By the way you can drink german beer up to 12 to 18 month after expired. It depends on the alcohol concentration.

Prost:)

Welcome back CM!

How was the weather in San Diego? Lol

San Diego has got to be the best place, climate wise, that I have ever been to. Every day is perfect, around 70 - 75 degrees, a couple of big fluffy clouds creeping by, and a gentle breeze, pretty much every day. I enjoyed hanging out on Cabrillo Point watching the military jets coming and going.

OK, enough of that, back to work!

Someone pops in shilling for German beer and you guys just... oh... no... wait....

Welcome back Bryan! :D

A belated welcome back

Bryan,

I knew about your road trip but had no idea you came back to the USA for a year. Sure the beer is better in Germany and you can gamble any damn where you please.

Still, your daughter needed to experience that football game along with all the rest of the American Life. There are many great countries in the world and I would love to live abroad in certain places for 6 - 12 months. But for me, in the end, home will always be the USA.

I hope your kids appreciate what you did--they are fortunate.
