First thing this morning I received a call from netspend asking me about suspicious activity. She asked me what I used the card for and I told her I use it for everything. She said there were alot of foreign transactions and what were they? I told her I am not sure which is which but that I do alot of shopping through auction sites. She just said okay and thank you for taking the time to talk with her. Hopefully I don't find my account locked next time I load it.

I kind of got the impression she felt like she did her job by questioning me and that was that.

I buy a lot of porn and toys is always a good answer imho. Nobody typically wants to ask any more questions after that.
:xxx

I got a call from them as well. Didn't answer it and then I got an email stating a hold had been placed on my account. An hour later I received an email congratulating me on my account being reactivated. I never called them back either. I think this happened on Saturday. Netspend knows what is going on they just have to act like they don't.

We seem to read about members getting calls from NS and/or banks when they begin to get suspicious of particular transactions. There may be another processor disappearing soon....

Last time I loaded my card, the girl leaned over the counter (I load it at the same place all the time and I know her husband thru work -- small town, nothing is secret LOL) and says... 'there's a lot of foreign transactions... and a couple are flagged'. I tell her I use the card online all the time, I buy a lot oj junk (so my hubby says), and there's no telling where some of the crap comes from. At least if some thief steals my card info, they won't get much. She laughed and said she'd bought stuff for her laptop on eBay and it ended up coming from HongKong, so no telling what her card looks like either. She typed in something, then loaded my card, said have a nice day and come back soon. LOL

One of my earlier NS cards was blocked --- Remember when INetBet transactions showed up as "I NET BET"??? A couple of those did that card in. LOL

Netspend blocked all transactions with that card. I phoned them and told them they had some of my money and if they'd enable the card again, I'd use it locally and be done with it. I was able to use the last $20 or so off it to buy gasoline, then I told them they could kill it. That was a couple years or so ago.

It is truly mindblowing reading for a non US person....that adults have to jump through this kind of bullshit, lying about their transactions, and fear to get "caught", for spending their own money...truly mindblowing!
I feel for you guys...and not only that...it pisses me off.

I couldn't agree more LaHutti...I also find it mind blowing. I use a Titanium Plus prepaid Visa, issued by a Trust Company in B.C., and my online account breaks down your monthly spending into a nifty little pie chart. One of the categories is "gambling transactions"...which is actually a great way to track how much you spend monthly, yearly, etc.

Also, when I withdraw back to the card from 32Red (for example), it shows directly as coming from 32Red PLC...no cloaking or hiding of the sendee.

It boggles the mind that a country in the free world treats its citizens like children. I truly think if I were in the U.S. I would have given up online gaming a long time ago..and gone back to horses.

I have the same prepaid as Pina, every time I go in branch I see the poster advertising it for online poker and gaming.

There's quite a bit in costs annually, what with foreign currency exchanges, monthly fees, etc, but it is hassle free.

Casinos in Ontario pay back quite low (our government at work), but even with those costs, better returns than landbased.

Pretty sure I would be back on the bus to gamble if I had the hassles US players encounter.

Mines locked up as well, oh well, like I said good riddance to a high priced prepaid card anyways. I'm not really interested in talking to them anywho.

I have kinda laid off using NS for a couple of months so I haven't had any problems with them so far.

I am using 2-3 different cards so maybe none of them get too nosy. I think maybe if you use it for something else too, they don't get a suspicious. Like buy gas, groceries or pay some bill every now and then. Course, could be that they just haven't come across me yet.

There is one I use that doesn't list the name of who made the charge. It will just say POS International.

It's a pain in the ass to have to go to such lengths to deposit, especially since my luck has been so bad here lately. LOL! Guess it's my way of telling the idiots in our gov. to kiss my rosyred behind.

just went to sign in on netspend. There is a problem with your acct please call and left number - netspend closed have to wait till morning.

Sounds like they've caught on again. Maybe pick up some sort of off the wall prepaid at a local gas station? But it has to work internationally. pfffttt....

Like Annie, I don't know why I even bother.... Had one little cashout from INet after hundreds (total) in deposits at RTGs this year.... Doing mostly tourneys now. We all waste so much money just trying to deposit and then trying to get money out (should we get lucky - which I ain't).

I haven't used my Netspend since March, my guess is there talking to everyone who had lots of international transactions. I really only used mine for gaming, because at $3.95 a load plus the monthly fee. This made this a horrible card just for everyday use. Especially when a bank account is by far cheaper for every day use. So since I have found another prepaid that works internationally and doesn't cost near as much. I've been happy so far.

OK just talked to netspend. They unlocked card. Women was very nice. She asked what I used card for? I said anything online. I told her I have kids that play minecraft and computer online games and they buy things all the time. She said some have been flagged for gaming. I asked which transactions she said she could'nt give me. I said please I need to know if my kids are going to bad sites then she gave me the transactions dates. ( as she said I didn't give you this info) then proceded to tell me they are just locking and warning people now but if it keeps up they will lock for good. She said visa is doing a check again and certain procesors are being looked at That tells me if you have money in a ewallet get it out now. She said she thinks its ridic that they have to call she understands that people may buy at one place and they dont know that its the same processor for a gaming site. I got alot of info from her hope some of it helps. Im now going to go look up transactions and see if I can peg what casino or ewallet it came from.

See what I don't get is the fact, I have been playing alot more lately at the Main Street Vegas group. They can find processors that are alot closer to home, and you can actually make a more believable story out of. Most of the processors are from Canada, here in the states, and even Mexico. I just don't understand the recent influx of using processors from China. Is the Chinese the only reliable people left out there to process credit/debit cards?
Plus with all of the fraud lately going on because of mystery transactions and stuff. Yeah if I were in Visa's and Mastercard's shoes I'd be looking real hard at who the culpret it too behind all of these extra fraudulent charges and processors taking more than they deserve. Personally I hope the Chinese do get shut down and we bring it back to somewhere a bit more safe and sound for processing. Like I'd rather have my card being processed thru Cyprus or even back in Great Brittan.

So just for grins, I looked up 4 of the places I received charges from and I found it interesting.

One from Canada, one from Cyprus, one from Australia and the other one, not sure of. At least that's what Google said. All were legit or looked so.

Does make one wonder how in the world the 'businesses' find them to use.

Same thing here wil have to call NS tomorrow

I have been using mypaylinq recently and buying vouchers to play at LuckyRed. I loaded my card tonight and tried to deposit to Luckyred and got the cashier declined by system for authorization. Then I went to my VISA Netspend online acct it flagged me saying probem with your account you must contact customer support at the following number. I am glad I came here first. Thanks fellow members now I know what I am up against.

I also received an email alert that my card was blocked due to a security alert. i called; the customer service rep told me that my account was blocked due to gambling usage; however, they will unblock it--- but if i used it again for gambling they will close it permanently.

i did not have a strong reaction to her message, just said, "ok", for 2 reasons; 1. I was prepared based on the messages in this thread; 2. my theory is that netspend is trying to push customers to their voucher product that is now being offered by casinos. I am assuming it is their voucher product because the company name is very similar to some of the deposit products on netspend. i also noticed that many of the accredited rtgs and 3dice are now offering this deposit option.

Netspend's primary customer, i imagine, is the person who uses their card for gambling transactions. They are not going to drastically affect their bottom line. As someone previously mentioned, they absolutely know what is going on, and what their customers use their cards for--

I can almost admire their marketing strategy, as they are creating a demand for their product (if what i suspect is true).

Bottom line is i will find another deposit solution, not because i am afraid that they will close my account if i continue to use for gambling, but because i don't like being manipulated. Even if what i suspect is not true, and they don't own this new deposit option, i don't appreciate my account being blocked for being used for exactly what it was intended to be used for by netspend.

How many times in the past 30 days did you use the card for gambling? Do you use it for anything else?

If you are talking about P*ste and P*y, I don't believe this has anything to do with a Netspend product. They closed quite a few accounts this week for purchasing vouchers. Myself was closed down for purchasing gaming cards on PcGames. This is by no means a gambling site, but the lady at Netspend told me all international transactions are being flagged as online gambling. I said well okay then I am tired of paying your huge fees anyway and please close my account. Not really sure what flagged all of a sudden, but from the looks of it I think USA players are going to be back to square one real soon. Time to find a new past time I guess.

You may be right, may not have anything to do with netspend. The reason why i think they may be connected is that the voucher sites' transactions are coded as Vestpay, and the netspend deposit products transactions are coded as Vesta.

I have used my card for transactions other than gambling-but i have only started doing this within the last month or so, i really don't think it matters.

If they really wanted to stop the usage for gambling then they should block the transactions-i am sure they have the ability to do so,

i had a cash-out at lucky red and i wanted it sent back to my other c-card seeing i don,t have a bank account but they sent it to my netspend card instead.

they then put my cards as lost or stolden and when i called them they wanted to know from what company this return was from i told them i did,nt know as i

use my card for everything on line but yes it was mine and i needed the block taken off she then told me no not until i sent in a statement saying where this return came from i told her i could,nt seeing it would take me too long and i needed that money now for bills.

she asked me if all my account transaction were made by me and i told her yes and they better take the block off and again she said no and for whoever put it in my account needed to take it back out.

at this point i was pissed and i told her no you will unblock my account i pay every month to use that card and you are not going to kidnap my money and tell me i can,t use it.

and when she said no again the fight was on i yelled for about 5 mins and a few bad words were tossed in i then told her to kiss my ass unblock my account so i could get my money and then close my account and then hung up on her.

when i put down the phone my account was unblocked and i got my money at as fast as i could.
