April Fools - ha ha ha!
The site was redirected to HR4777.com (which has been changed now) and for a number of Casinomeister visitors, it caused a bit of a panic.
I fell for it totally, the ditz that I am. I e-mailed everyone on my list of representatives, called th FBI (both in Northern VA who routed me to Norfolk location). And gave them a piece of my mind this morning! I said my piece on the HR 4777 bill through e-mails today to all of them. You did good. Very, very good. Got my attention and off my tush! (Too funny after the fact) My very first April Fool's with ya and you got me!
And:This morning I was quite happily reading/adding messages to the
Casinomeister forum. Went to lunch, came back, and wham....this...
You are probably aware of this by now from Spearmaster or one of the
others, in which case I apologise. However, from a personal point of view I
am absolutely livid. I am *not* a US citizen, the gambling bill has not yet
been passed by the senate, and even more galling is the fact that I can
still access xxxxcasino.com sites and GAMBLE! I can't access the forum
giving me the positives/negatives of gambling, but I can still gamble!
Makes absolutely no sense to me at all.
Just another example of the USA trying to be masters of the universe.

OMG........I just sent e-mails to my senator, governor etc..OMG tooo funny...well..I hope everyone else does the same ..the bill 4777 needs to be stopped..OMG ...too funny...Thank You..I feel much better now knowing Bryan has not been hijacked! Geezes...I even called my service provider......Laffin too hard..gonna beat him...
Even though it was a funny ha-ha, it was somewhat of a wake up call. There are some scary people in the US Congress who would probably support an actual ISP block. In our thread in Casinomeister's forum, a member posted a response from her Congressman concerning her asking him to not support the HR4777 bill. This is what he had to say:Dear Ms. XXXXX:
Thank you for contacting me in opposition to H.R. 4777, the
Internet Gambling Prohibition Act. I appreciate the opportunity to respond

Introduced by my colleague, Rep. Bob Goodlatte of Virginia, H.R.
4777 would prohibit the placing of bets or wagers over the internet.
Gambling is currently illegal in the United States unless regulated by
the States. The numerous gambling websites from outside our borders are
unlicensed and unregulated and thus violate the laws of all 50 States
in the Union. Gambling is an issue for the States to decide and
internet gambling has taken away the State’s power to regulate.
I have joined 126 of my colleague’s in the House in co-sponsoring
H.R. 4777. Currently, this bill is awaiting action in the House
Committee on Judiciary. Although we do not agree on this issue, I
appreciate your input and I will certainly remember your concerns as this bill
continues to move through the legislative process.
