Dear Reader,

Hey, it's a nice springlike day - and I'm in a reggae kinda mood - jammin' on my base guitar to the "Mighty Diamonds". But alas, it'll have to wait, you my dear reader are much more important. And I dig jammin' with you.

Upbeatily yours,

Bryan

  • WORD FROM THE MEISTER
    PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE
If this is so, then let's be virtuous.

A couple of weeks ago, Integrity Casinos (Captain Cooks, Casino Kingdom, and Classic Casino) decided to conduct an audit of all their player accounts to weed out unwanted activity. This is fine and dandy, that's their prerogative. I have been outspoken since day one that these "unwanted" players who had met the casinos' wagering requirements and terms and conditions should be paid and then sent merrily on their way. If they are fraudsters, then kick 'em to the curb. But other than that - pay them.

The "audit" that was planned (seven days) is turning into several weeks with an end date of April 15th. The audit has been exasperated by the selling of the casino property (WTF?) so obviously there is a lot of activity going on behind the scenes -- activity that many of us are not privy to.

This is what many of the players have been receiving this week:
As yet the audit of your account has not yet been completed, and your account still remains locked. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and would like to take this time to thank you for your patience during this process. We are currently 30% of the way through this investigation and we anticipate this should be completed by the 15th April. Please note that all genuine players will be paid. We will be in touch immediately upon a change in the status of your account.

It's reassuring that "genuine players" will be paid. I assume "genuine" means those who are not committing fraud.

In the meantime, I've been forwarding complaints that have been coming through via the "Pitch a Bitch" section to the casino operators. And this is the response as of last night:
The audit of these accounts has not yet been completed, and these accounts remain locked. We do advise though that we are currently 30% of the way through our investigation and anticipate completion within two weeks . We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and would like to take this time to thank you for your patience during this process. Please note all genuine players who have played to our T&C's can rest assured they will be paid. If you do have a specific query about your account we ask that you please contact our Customer Support Centre directly.
Ah, yes -- the same rhetoric given to the players, but one slight difference: genuine players who have met the T&Cs will be paid. So you "pitch a bitchers" can just hang tight...and wait a little more. Things should be cool with (most of) you.

Nevertheless, this has been an exercise that I hope all casino operators are watching closely because the handling of this has been absolutely excruciatingly painful. Live and learn; learn from other's mistakes -- I just wish it wasn't Captain Cooks Casino that we have to watch doing this.

Okay you Brits -- here we go...

    Camilla and Charles

Prince Charles was driving around his mother's estate when he accidentally ran over her favorite dog, a corgi, crushing it to a pulp.

He got out of his Range Rover and sat down on the grass totally distraught.

The whole world was against him and now his mother would go ballistic.

Suddenly he noticed a lamp half-buried in the ground. He dug it up, polished it and immediately a genie appeared.

'You have freed me from thousands of years of imprisonment,' said the genie. 'As a reward I shall grant you one wish.'

'Well,' said the Prince, 'I have all the material things I need, but let me show you this dog.'

They walk over to the splattered remains of the dog. 'Do you think you could bring this dog back to life for me?' the Prince asked.

The genie carefully looked at the remains and shook his head.

'This body is too far gone for even me to bring it back to life. Is there something else you would like?'

The Prince thought for a minute, reached into his pocket and pulled out two photos.

'I was married to this beautiful woman called Diana,' said Prince Charles, showing the genie the first photo. 'But now I love this woman called Camilla,' and he showed the genie the second photo.

'You see Camilla isn't beautiful at all, so do you think you can make Camilla as beautiful as Diana?'

The genie studied the two photographs and after a few minutes said,

    ....drum roll please...

'Let's have a look at that dog again.'

    Ha ha ha ha
