Over the past couple of weeks, there have been a few player issues where casinos have confiscated player winnings because they don't like the style of play. This is extremely problematic mainly because it opens up accusations of abusive behaviour on both sides of the fence; player and casino.
If the player does not break any specific rule, then pay him and get on with it. If a casino doesn't like the player's style of play, rewrite the terms and conditions to reflect the specific type of play that is acceptable.
This is a business that needs to accept the fact that players play to win. And they will use every legitimate means to do so - to win. This is why we have terms and conditions. The casino writes these conditions, the players agree to these conditions, and then hopefully abide by them.
On the other hand - seasoned players who know damn well that casinos are scrutinizing game play and player accounts should know that if they do something out of the ordinary, the casino is going to shut them down. Take for instance a guy who suddenly opens twenty some-odd casino accounts at Playtech. C'mon, this ain't what the average Joe-player does. You gotta look like you're a normal player. Casino operators and their support teams are looking for anything that pops up red flags.
So my advice to players, don't give casino operators reason for concern, they're already paranoid as it is. Casino operators - don't make up rules as you go along. As remarked at this year's GIGSE during the affiliate panel discussion. Reputation is everything in this business. Don't throw your reputation down the drain for a fistful of dollars. It's not worth it.
And for players, be choosey with whom you play with. Select a handful of casinos you can deal with on a personal level and your playing experience will only improve.
