11 August 2005 Issue #244 weekly Dear Reader,
What a great week! Actually, it was last week that was great since it was Bierwoche (Beer week) in Kulmbach (a nearby city with five breweries), and they had a week-long fest that celebrated - you guessed it - beer. Play spot the Casinomeister and see if you can find me here from last Sunday. Needless to say, I didn't get all that much done on Monday, but the rest of the week went fine. Hope your week was as nice too.

Some people tend to forget that Casinomeister is way more than just a portal. They seem to be stuck there never venturing further than a click away to the rest of the site. A week doesn't go by where someone posts a question in the forum that has been covered in Casinomeister's news, the newsletter, the rogue section, the webcast, or in some other obscure corner of the site. That's fine and dandy. But this poses questions for me, why aren't people reading the rest of the site, why aren't they clicking around the site? Are my visitors lazy, or is the navigation not simple enough? Anyway, there is a search engine that not many people know about me-thinks. It's located here: http://www.casinomeister.com/cgi-bin/hse/HomepageSearchEngine.cgi?. Bookmark this page! Here one can search the "Rogue Section", "Casinomeister's News" and the newsletter archives. Also the "resources page" should be bookmarked as well. Knowledge is power, and there are far too many players and casino operators out there that just don't know enough about online gaming. Empower yourself with some knowledge. Use the resources that are available to you. What the hell, it's free. | ||
| PITCH A BITCH HEADS UP | ||
| Time for a break... Yep the rumors are true - I'm taking a break and going on vacation for about ten days <gasp - shock!> - so all you complainers and problematic gamblers are on your own until I return, eh? The Pitch a Bitch section is now officially closed until 25 August. But alas, have no fear troubled ones. There still is hope. There are ways to tackle whatever problems you might have. I've listed links on the PAB page that might assist you. You can also become a member of our forum, and either post your complaint or contact a casino representative there. There are about 70 casino reps listed there that cover more than 140 casino properties. It's funny, even with these resources available, I still get PABs every day. In one week alone (3-10 August), I received 21 complaints (PABs), seven thank yous for current or past resolutions, and six reminders (yeah, yeah, I'll get to ya) in my PAB mail box. That's a lot of mail to deal with beyond the Casinomeister mailbox, personal mail, and the forum postings. Some complaints take a couple of minutes to get into the right hands, some take a couple of hours. This past week concerned these properties: Omni Casino Desert Dollar Fortune Affiliates Clubworld WildVegas Vegas Paradise Black Widow USA Casino All Jackpots Joyland Casino Royal Circus Casino Slotland Madbonus Joyland Casino Goldbetting African Palace Powerbet Cirrus Casino African Palace Grand Banks Joyland And these don't include the complaints that come in to me without the PAB, or complaints posted in the forum. Some cross-over; some don't. Nevertheless, I see a pattern here - Playtech leads the pack. Again, this is only one week - but a quick glance gives you a feel that there are some unhappy campers. |

An elderly man in Florida had owned a large farm for several years. He
had a large pond in the back, fixed up nice; picnic tables, horseshoe courts,
and some apple and peach trees. The pond was properly shaped and fixed up
for swimming when it was built. One evening, the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over. He grabbed a five gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end. One of the women shouted to him, "We're not coming out until you leave!" The old man frowned, "I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked." Holding the bucket up he said, "I'm here to feed the alligator." Moral: Old men can still think fast. ha ha ha Thanks Bigansassy! Return to Top CONFERENCE CORNER EiG breaks the mould for 2005 The well-established European i-gaming Congress & Expo (EiG) - which succeeded in bringing together close to 1,000 sector professionals over the first three years of its tenure in Barcelona, Spain - is now set for further expansion at its new home on the Côte d'Azur. This year's three-day event will take place on 7-9 November at the Acropolis, Nice, France. Co-organisers, ATE and River City Group believe that the fresh surroundings will bring added vitality to conference proceedings as well as enhanced opportunities to boost the exhibition component of EiG, which will now host around 30 key suppliers to the i-gaming sector. Exhibition-only badges will be available for those who don't wish to participate in the seminar fixture list. An extended seminar and workshop programme has been introduced offering delegates even greater opportunities to pick and choose from a wide selection of topics under discussion over three days. Furthermore, an opening-night reception, middle-night drinks reception and two networking lunches will allow participants to carry on discussions more informally on a one-to-one basis with key industry movers. ATE's Penny Gruber remarked: "EiG has grown from strength to strength and the new venue will not only provide an ideal backdrop for the event - Nice and the French Riviera are after all renowned for their warm welcome, hospitality and ability to host major business and tourist events - but also allows us to stage a larger floor display of the latest products, services and innovations." Sue Schneider of River City Group added: "With an extensive list of huge industry names, putting forward their arguments on highly topical issues and in-depth case studies, it's patently clear that EiG is now firmly established as the must-attend event for the remote gaming industry in Europe and we are expecting to see significant growth in delegate numbers yet again this year." EiG 2005 is being supported by the EBA (European Betting Association), eCOGRA (e-Commerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance), IGC (Interactive Gaming Council), International Masters of Gaming Law and the newly formed RGA (Remote Gambling Association).
