Dear Reader,

It's raining on my snow!! Bleeding hell! But at least I got a day in to lob a few snowballs and go sledding with my kids. Meanwhile the work piles up, and I get a little more behind. Oh well, bummer. A number of you were probably waiting for an email response from me as I was gleefully nailing a four-year-old in the head with a snowball. But it's raining now, no more goofing off.

Shamelessly yours,

Bryan

    WORD FROM THE MEISTER
    PLAYER MEDIATION
As most of you know, I assist players when they find themselves in need of help to either cut through the red tape of casino support, to get answers why they've been locked out, or to ensure that the casino in question is adhering to it's payment policies. Since I do this as time permits, and for any casino (except a choice few) and for FREE, my services are abused a lot. The time wasted on fraudulent claims outnumbers the time spent on legitimate claims by ten-fold (a rough estimate). Recently, I have come under fire because a player who decided to waste some more of my time was deemed a fraud - by me. If players want me to help them out - I have no problem, but as soon as I catch them in a lie - bye. I will not put my reputation on the line for someone who has issues with the truth.

Some players don't like me because I tend to side with the casinos often, too often for their comfort. They don't like the fact that it seems that I am quick to judge a player as a scammy fraudster without much apparent evidence - just from the word of a casino operator or whomever. Well, there is one thing I need to make clear. Most of the time I won't make public everything that I know. Often, in order to gain trust with casino operators, I have to agree not to give out as much information that is given to me. In many cases, I have to agree on not revealing what exactly a player did, or exactly how they were connected to other players etc. It's like ongoing detective work. In some instances, I cannot reveal who told me what. If I were to breach this trust, then I lose a relationship which may prove beneficial to resolving future player issues. That's life in Casinomeisterland.

    And so it goes.

There are those who know me personally, and who can assure that I do due diligence before I commit myself to making a decision involving players or casinos. There are also those who wish me ill will. This popped up at a popular message board on Wednesday:
I have no respect for Bryan Bailey. I hope he dies, serious.
What the hell is that? I'm glad that the moderators do not tolerate this sort of activity, and pulled this thread as soon as it was discovered. I find it abhorrent that some people think that this is funny - or real. For shame.

Unfortunately crap like this comes with the territory - and it's something I have to live with. When I am in contact with so many people, and for so many differing reasons, I will always have my moments with ones who dwell in the "darkness".

ATTENTION - CASINO OPERATORS, SUPERVISORS AND AFFILIATE MANAGERS
You are invited to join our forum as a "Casino Representative" group member. There are already 45 of your competitors and colleagues listed as members representing over 100 properties. It's time you became a member as well. Why? To help streamline the complaint process or any issue players may have concerning your operation. I try to monitor and administrate the forum as best I can, but I am not in there 24 hrs a day and most people know that I do not work on weekends. Making yourself available to your players will only benefit your operation, and it will benefit this industry as a whole when player issues are caught in their fetal stage before they become a full-blown nightmare.

I understand many operators do not want to post in forums fearing the unrelentless mob. Rest assured I feel your pain. As a member, you are not obligated to post in the forum when issues come up; your account will merely be displayed in order for members (or me) to either PM you or send you an email.

If you are already a member, please contact me via the forum requesting membership of the "Casino Representative" group, or go to your "User CP" and request membership there. Thanks!

    And now for the humor......
A blonde, a red head, and a brunette were walking on the beach when they found a magic lamp.
They began rubbing it and genie came out and said, "You each may have one wish."
The red head thought for a while and said, "Even though blondes are stupid, they have so more fun, I wish to be blonde." and she was turned blonde.
The brunette agreed, "That's true, I really want to have more fun too, even though I'll be dumber, I wish to be blonde" and she became blonde also.
The blonde looks at the two other blondes and said, "I just don't think I have enough fun. I don't care if I becomer even more dumb, make me more blonde, woo!" So the genie granted her wish and made her a man.

    ha ha ha

Still no response from Parlay Entertainment

The more I see of this issue the more suspicious it becomes. Casino seems to have pulled up the drawbridge and so does its software provider Parlay.

It should not take a competent software provider longer than 48 - 72 hours to run checks on its gaming software and the player logs, yet here we are a month down the line and we have an operator who is dodging the player and making non-specific claims about dud software, and a software provider that has gone into dumb (as in mute and stupid) mode.

I've seen this pattern before, and it ended in the casino going belly-up.

$20 000 is a lot of money in anyone's book, and Parlay Entertainment need to issue an explanation and a full report either through GG or publicly.

And pay the man - and not in instalments either.

One thing is for sure - players should stay the hell away from Parlay-powered casinos as a precaution.

ECOGRA FORGES NEW ALLIANCE ON RESPONSIBLE GAMING

International player protection body teams with G4

Player protection and online casino regulator eCOGRA has teamed with the Global Gambling Guidance Group (G4) to provide more cohesive and formal precautions against underage and problem gambling.

"The top online casinos regulated by eCOGRA have all made in-house responsible gambling provision as part of their operational structures, and we will beef up this vital function through a partnership with the respected and professional G4 organisation," says Andrew Beveridge, CEO of eCOGRA.

eCOGRA will work with G4 to create a set of policies and procedures that will set the global benchmark for responsible gaming. eCOGRA Seal casino and poker operators will be required to implement these detailed policies as part of the Generally Accepted Practices (eGAP), and compliance will be reviewed on an ongoing basis by independent auditors.

G4 management have extensive experience with responsible gaming programmes in both the terrestrial and online environments, and provide a worldwide accreditation programme. The G4 e-Gaming Code of Practice has already been successfully implemented at major online site PokerRoom.com, proving to be both practical and effective.

Top G4 executive, Pieter Remmers says that partnering with eCOGRA dramatically extends the beneficial reach of his organisation's code. "These 51 first rate Seal casinos represent a very significant share of the online casino gambling sector, and the real enforcement that is part of the eCOGRA system makes for effective application," he says.

"Although we have other partnerships in process, this is the big one for us, because eCOGRA will offer brand recognition and allow us to contribute to their sites. It is the first step in getting their members to come aboard. We have also held discussions with other groups, like the Interactive Gaming Council and certain large online poker networks, and those will continue to be our focus in the short term."

Bill Galston OBE, who is both an independent director of eCOGRA and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Gamcare, commented "We are extremely pleased with this alliance and the efforts that will be made by the Seal operators in the area of social responsibility."

Many of Europe's leading lawyers, regulators and operators will be among the speakers at the European Gambling Briefing, a two-day symposium taking place across 25 and 26 April at the Conrad Hotel, Brussels.
