HAPPY BIRTHDAY CASINOMEISTER!!!! This month marks our Fifth Year Anniversary!! Yippee!! A lifetime in cyber years, we have grown from just me sitting in my San Diego apartment banging away on my computer, to just me and Vortran007 sitting in my little Bavarian village banging away on a few German beers!! In five years we've watched this industry grow from a handful of respectable casinos and their cheesy counter-parts, to a few more respectable casinos and a flood of cheesy counterparts. From the beginning, Casinomeister began merely as an information site. We offered a list of what were deemed respectable casinos, a few gambling tips, advice for player problems, a forum, and that's about it. The newsletter wasn't first published until November 1998. We had about 25 subscribers, and about 30 forum members. I was happy when I had more than 40 visitors a day. That was then; this is now. We have 2500 subscribers, about 1450 forum members, and around 1400 unique visitors a day. Casinomeister serves the industry as the Watchdog of Online Casinos. Arbitrations, online casino investigations, a bitchin' webcast, online casino news, rogue casino listings, casino player warnings, player fraud exposés, and a few contests are what can be found on the surface. Delving deeper can only bring further joy. So what can you do to help me and Vortran celebrate? You can spread the joy and buy us stuff at Amazon.co.uk at Our Wish List

VOTE FOR CASINOMEISTER Cast your vote for Casinomeister as "Watchdog of the Year 2003". Casinomeister was voted number one watchdog last year, and for good reasons too. Where else do you have exposés on Evil Spammers, Evil Players, Rogue Casinos, Evil Casino Warning Signs, awe inspiring webcasts, and a search engine that digs deep into our archives of news, rogues, and newsletters. And what other site offers a "Pitch a Bitch" section where you as a disgruntled player can pitch a bitch about an online casino, and I try to do something about it. And don't forget about Vortran, my little buddy! We travel all over the globe, putting ourselves in danger of funky diseases and international terrorism while meeting with casino operators, CEOs of casino software companies, webmasters and other colorful characters of the online casino industry. And we do it all for you dear reader. So c'mon and vote here at the Gambling Online Magazine's Readers poll

Montreal 2003 ~ Special Report had a couple of glaring errors so it's time to make some corrections. One was where I mentioned Sun Palace Casino as a member of the Vegas Partner Lounge group when I should have mentioned Sun Vegas Casino ****** The segment concerning Brian Wood's dialogue prompted this response from him: "I just finished reading it, not "bad" or not. I would like to say one thing. I was not interested in the threesome going on and you were the one who pointed it out to me :) Yep that was your finger, not mine." So I guess I was the one giggling like a school boy as well. ***** Also the dentist that I met on the airplane coming home said she was attending a conference in Oslo, Sweden. Oslo is in Norway and only one of you corrected me on that. Tsk, tsk. Anyway, I could have sworn that was what she said, but it was a long flight. Did you miss this tantalizing issue? Check out the archives here. Montreal 2003 ~ Special Report. |

Return to Top 3. This week's humor A guy walked into a bar with a pet alligator by his side. He put the alligator up on the bar and turned to the astonished patrons. "I'll make you a deal. I'll open this alligator's mouth and place my genitals inside. Then the gator will close his mouth for one minute. He'll then open his mouth and I'll remove my unit unscathed. In return for witnessing this spectacle, each of you will buy me a drink." The crowd murmured their approval. The man stood up on the bar, dropped his trousers, and placed his privates in the alligator's open mouth. The gator closed his mouth as the crowd gasped. After a minute, the man grabbed a beer bottle and rapped the alligator hard on the top of it's head. The gator opened his mouth and the man removed his genital, unscathed as promised. The crowd cheered and the first of his free drinks was delivered. The man stood up again and made another offer. "I'll pay anyone $100 who's willing to give it a try." A hush fell over the crowd. After a while, a hand went up in the back of the bar. A blonde woman timidly spoke up, "I'll try, but you have to promise not to hit me on the head with the beer bottle." ha ha ha (sorry ladies!)

DUTCH SHUT OUT One of the many interesting debates at the recent GIGSE conference in Montreal was the Dutch De Lotto action against Ladbrokes, but thousands of kilometres away in Europe a government monopoly was at work issuing summons to scores of other companies. The Dutch sports betting monopoly De Lotto summoned the owners of some 85 international online sports betting sites to appear in a court in Arnhem for summary proceedings, accusing them of using regional promotion media and allowing Dutch citizens to gamble at their sites in contravention of a national ban on such activity outside De Lotto. However, deals with the accused companies had clearly been struck, because just before the case started, it appeared that 62 of the 85 defendants agreed to stop targeting Dutch punters by blocking them electronically. As we went to press no further information on the court cases was available. Ladbrokes was recently the target of De Lotto legal action and had to block Dutch players from its sites. The international betting giant has the case on appeal, citing the free trade provisions applying in the European Union and the Treaty of Rome. De Lotto claims it has sole rights to offer gambling to Dutch nationals and the question of State sovereignty is part of the debate. More articles like this in our news section.
