Dear Reader,

Last week I mentioned that I wasn't going to write any poems, talk about the weather, nor was I going to begin the newsletter with any anecdote. Just a plain ol' fashioned newsletter without all the "hullabaloo" in it. But really now, I was only joking.

But the joke was on me, since not many people "got" it. I received many many emails from concerned readers thinking I was changing my ways! I guess my joke fell flat on its face. But you should know better, old dogs don't change their ways, and they are useless at changing old habits.

So let's start with a tidbit of knowledge. "Hullabaloo" a lot of us use this term, but have no idea of its meaning, its real meaning I mean. Well it means to make a lot of excitement, to make a lot of noise. It's a derivative from "hollo-ballo". And this is just a funny way to say "halloo". "Halloo!!" was the way ancient European hunters used to call their hunting hounds. And it's "imitative". In other words, it a word that sounds like the action it's describing; "ding-dong" describes the ringing of a bell, "bang" describes something that goes bang. Well, "halloo" is imitative of the baying of a hunting dog. These ancient hunters also used this term to get people's attention besides their dogs. And this is why several European languages use a derivative of "halloo" to say hello. So when you are greeting your friends and loved ones with a cheery "hello", you are using a derivative of an ancient dog call.

Woof, woof.

Doggingly yours,

Bryan

WORD FROM THE MEISTER
VOTE FOR CASINOMEISTER
Speaking of dogs, cast your vote for Casinomeister as "Watchdog of the Year 2003". Casinomeister was voted number one watchdog last year, and for good reasons too. Where else do you have exposés on Evil Spammers, Evil Players, Rogue Casinos, Evil Casino Warning Signs, awe inspiring webcasts, and a search engine that digs deep into our archives of news, rogues, and newsletters. And what other site offers a "Pitch a Bitch" section where you as a disgruntled player can pitch a bitch about an online casino, and I try to do something about it.

And don't forget about Vortran, my little buddy! We travel all over the globe, putting ourselves in danger of funky diseases and international terrorism while meeting with casino operators, CEOs of casino software companies, webmasters and other colorful characters of the online casino industry.

And we do all for you, the esteemed reader. So c'mon and vote here at the Gambling Online Magazine's Readers poll!

SPRING CLEANUP!!
I've been going through the forum and there are a number of people who need to update their email addresses. There were a number of accounts that had the email notification turned on, but these accounts were bouncing. If you have an account in the forum, and you are unsure whether or not your email address is correct, you may want to check it out. I've been deleting most accounts that have been bouncing. You can check out your profile here.

SHE HASN'T BEEN PAID!!!
Yes it's true!! Angelciti tried to pay the player who won $28,555 via three Royal Flushes at Welcome to Our Casino, and she only had to wait NINE MONTHS to receive a check, but the check they sent was handwritten in Spanish! She couldn't cash it, so she was told by the casino to send it back, and once they receive the check they would wire her the funds.

Angelciti's conduct throughout this entire episode has been inexcusable and totally unprofessional. Why didn't the casino put a stop on the check, and then wire her? Or why didn't they wire her to begin with?

And it's also a very sad day to see a number of portal webmasters advertising for this group of casinos when they know better. They ought to get down and give everyone some push-ups.

3. This week's humor
A woman rushes to see her doctor, looking very much worried and all strung out. She rattles off, "Doctor, take a look at me. When I woke up this morning, I looked at myself in the mirror and saw my hair all wiry and frazzled up, my skin was all wrinkled and pasty, my eyes were blood-shot and bugging out, and I had this corpse-like look on my face! What's wrong with me, Doctor?"

The doctor looks her over for a few moments, then calmly says, "Well, I can tell you one thing...

...there ain't nothing wrong with your eyesight."

With regard to the coupon promotions sent out by Crown Vegas, I have a question and need some help please. I just read their promotional coupon that was sent to me on Sunday. It was $100 for 100% bonus. As I read their rules that related to this particular offer, it said "Maximum cashout is 15x the deposit, after that all winnings will be voided". So does this mean that if I had used that promotion, the most I would be allowed to win would be $1500.00? If so, what would happen if I were to hit a Jackpot or something big? If these bonuses do in fact limit how much you can win, why bother playing at all? If you can lose your drawers without question, how dare they limit how much you can win? Is this a common deal with all online casinos? If someone would be kind enough to help me with these questions, I would be most grateful.
What's up with that? Check it out here.
