SIN CITY
Vegas - here I come!!
I'll be attending the G2E next week, and of course partaking in jovial jocularities with my webmaster buddies. Hopefully we can meet up as well if you're going to be in town. This is my first trip there in about three years, so it should be an interesting and entertaining one.
The industry has changed incredibly in the past three years, and the G2E has always been a good place to gather information to see where it's going. Online casinos and poker have the tendency to mimic their off-line brethren, but the times are changing with new developments both technically and legally. It looks as though California may be one of the first States to offer online poker to its residents. I'm looking forward to finding out more about how this is going to be done...so...stay tuned for my Vegas report due out around the first week of December (yeah, I'll be hanging out in California too for a few days).
Until then...

Changes in Signature rules:
Recently there has been an issue about signatures AGAIN and how some members are exploiting the board with their usage. The rules have been modified once more - specifically, the following:
4.2 - Content Restrictions If you list URLs, please do not post any ad-copy or advertisial language. The text may not be deceptive. It must be one color and not have more than VB +2 font size.
...
4.4 - Linked Websites The linked pages must not advertise casinos listed in the Rogue Pit. If Casinomeister subsequently rogues a casino, a webmaster is not obligated to remove that casino but will seriously consider its positioning.
Strategy and System pages must not claim or imply that a player can beat a game with a house edge with this system or strategy. This refers to the Casinomeister Philosophy that all systems are bogus.
The websites linked via the signatures will not have any content that can be considered "offensive" (see rule 1.5). Linked-to sites must display ethical behavior. If members find questionable links, please contact Linkmeister Simmo! who will review the site.
The thing is - be proactive on this. Check out your sig (if you have one) and make sure it complies before Meister Simmo corrects you. Thanks!

Democrat calls for regulation instead of prohibition on Internet gambling
In an op-ed article published this week in the Washington publication Roll Call, Representative Jared Polis (D-CO) argues that regulating Internet gambling in order to protect consumers and generate up to $42 billion in new revenue is a "sensible approach."
Based on his experience of having started and managed several Internet-based companies, Rep. Polis says Congress should "...scrap the ineffective attempt to ban Internet gambling in the U.S. and, instead, replace it with a regulated environment where adult consumers can elect to place a wager online with assurances that they are protected from fraud and abuse."
"Regardless of what one thinks of the proper public policy approach to gaming in general, it's time to acknowledge that this incidence of ill-conceived prohibition has failed, is failing and will continue to fail because it completely ignores the reality of the Internet," states Rep. Polis.
"A new policy approach is needed to address this issue and protect Americans and the freedom of the Internet."
Rep. Polis further encourages support for the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection and Enforcement Act (H.R. 2267), introduced by Rep. Barney Frank, which would "replace the current, ineffective ban on Internet gambling with a strict regulatory environment where operators must be licensed and required to implement safeguards to protect against compulsive and underage gambling, money laundering, fraud and identify theft."
