Why is Sugar Rush so God-awful now?

Possibly not a great time to mention the impending Sugar Rush 1000, with a 25000x Max Win and a Super Bonus (still 10 spins but the bonus round starts with random multipliers already populating every square) only available from the BUY option so UK is out of luck again.

Free spins frequency still 1 in 323 same as the original SR, but we can see from the published stats that the max win probability has fallen from just over 1 in 2.3 million to 1 in 12.3 million.

Something has changed in this slot.
Used to be good fun to play, plenty of game time, lots of potential, good bonus game. Had some real nice wins on it (2000x bet several times).

Now no matter where I play it it is utter garbage. Doesn’t matter what I bet or which casino I play at, the base game is horse dung and the free spins are offensive. First 5 free spins or so are dead then a couple of small wins to activate a few x2 multipliers, then not much else and “you won 9x bet in 10 free spins” is pretty standard.

What’s also annoying is when you got 2 scatter before they would “hold” for a moment of excitement before dropping in the rest of the symbols. Now they just drop straight in with no tension. It’s only a small change but still, clearly if they can change that they can change other things.

Used to be one of my go-to slots as it was great fun. Now I only go to it when I’ve made a withdrawal and left some change to play with (which is usually slaughtered quickly).

Even The Bandit is complaining about it as he’s buying £2/300 bonuses and getting wins like £12, £19 and so on. Only streamers I’ve seen winning are those cheeky chappies, those regular Joes who can somehow buy £10,000 bonuses and post totally legit “record wins!” on their channels. Wombats.

Used to hold and flash for a moment of tension and excitement when you hope the 3rd scatter will drop, but now they just drop straight in - usually quicker than when a regular win without scatters is there.
Are we not allowed some excitement? The same thing happens on Crypto casinos, so it's nothing to do with UKGC regulations (my initial thought when it happened).

I appreciate you personally don't make the games nor these decisions, but maybe you know why or can find out why. I don't understand why game developers make these changes that only serve to make the experience less fun. It makes zero sense

The game has absolutely changed and every single person here who has played it will confirm. I'm not talking about payout percentage or frequency or anything like that, just the scatters...

How it happened on the launch game:
2 scatters drop in with a win, win "pops", then the scatters flash for a few seconds (to signify the chance of free spins, a bit of tension) and then new symbols drop in, and maybe - if you're lucky - a 3rd scatter.

How it happens in the current game:

I’ve noticed it on occasion, but since it launched. I think it’s just a bug - occasionally the “tension tease” doesn’t do its thing, it just skips it. Happens on most Pragmatics on occasion.

Never prove it but I'm convinced most slots are released at over 100% TRTP for a week or so to get players thinking along the lines of "This new game is great!"

Then "adjusted" to the original designed payout percentages.

Who knows, just my thoughts.

That is illegal they can not make the TRTP higher on release day, that "release day rtp" is just that a meme that people actually believe to be the case because loads get wins on a brand new slot. Obviously I used to think the same as well until I found out that it is illegal to alter the TRTP once the slot has been released.

Casinos can still change the RTP from the pool of RTP's versions the slot provider has for casinos to choose from.

But honestly there is no such a thing as release day rtp. It is just coincidences that make people think it is a thing.

But I do think the slots are getting nerfed 100% now that is something that I think is true but my big caveat here is if they nerf a slot in such a way that it alters the RNG and the RTP the slot has to be retested again before they can release that new version of the slot. So how I think it works is when a slot provider has an update ready for a already released slot they are not allowed to update the current version of that slot until the new version has been tested again and they get the greenlight. So people playing them at any of the many thousands of casinos will not notice anything the slot will not go offline.

That is why you should check the version numbers on slots on day 1 of release and then keep checking every time you play them. If you are really paranoid you could even make a spreadsheet etc to be sure of day 1 version number and day 10 day 20 etc etc. Then you will see when a slot has had updates and whether it has been nerfed at all.

I know most do not care or bother with doing any of that. But it would give you an idea of which slots to avoid if the version number has changed. That will most probably mean it got "nerfed"

EDIT: Something more about the editing of the RNG or RTP from my understanding from speaking to the people who made the 3dice slots and enzo when I played at 3dice was that if the RNG gets changed then the RNG for that slot needs to be re-tested but RTP it does not. Then here comes the stinker. Most slot providers can use an already tested RNG and use that same RNG for a new slot so rinse repeat, hence why you get so many copies and clones/re-skins. That means they are using the same already tested RNG.

Now my real question would be if those "intermittent wins" was part of the RNG or part of the RTP? That is a question I would love to know and get answered? is @trancemonkey still around?

Don’t let some here read your conspiracy theory rants about manipulated games doing things they shouldn’t…. Pragmatic game eh…? I’ve been blessed to have never touched this one yet - but one amazing thing I noticed with the Big Bass games like Splash or Amazon - the actual first time I hit the bonus I was overwhelmed with all the add on perks - getting every single one I believe on Splash, then picking Damn near everything before stumbling upon the boot on Amazon… has never even come close since and in Splash lately I’m grabbing the noose first damn crack. Additionally I’m lucky if I make it to level 2 nowadays where as earlier it was more of a am I gonna make it to level x10 type experience. Screws got tightened waaaaaay up after they’ve been around a while. First time playing Wild Wild Riches I went on a 5 hr win-a-thon, now it just takes my money and kicks me out the door with zero mercy. “Volatile” games they say, RNG they say…. Create the “chase the dragon” feeling and watch the money roll in. I do enjoy the layout of Pragmatic games which are rather well out together - but I’ve learned to stay away or play when they first come out and hopefully never play them again.

That horrid creation ^^^^ is one of the most volatile games about right now and not seeing a bonus is a common thing.

Granted it can give huge wins on tiny stakes but has to make up for these by having long dead spells.

There are much "fairer" Pragmatics about to choose from, then again ALL slots are bent anyway

Is that Wild West Duels the same kinda game as Wanted Dead or a Wild? Pretty sure I’ve seen Bandit playing it - seems to choose, at random, which wilds to expand. So you could get a wild on every reel and actually get next to nothing.

Yeah it's a clone of wanted dead or a Wild. Poor one at that, to be fair it's a good clone in terms of the base game is dead, the duel bonus on this one is random when wilds "pop".

I haven't had a game that dead for a long time! Hacksaw seem to be fair for a slot provider, some are quite volatile, like that aptly named rotten, but bonuses are within reason, some shit, some ok and some belters. I have yet to hit anything decent with a pragmatic, I'll be binning their slots for quite some time. I don't see the mass appeal.

I actually liked sugar rush, but the fact another one has been brought out that I cannot hit naturally is poor. They are advertising to the streamers and crypto players. I actually have no issue with crypto, I have an account. I prefer UK though for ease and convenience, so when I see "super bonus buy" and I can't hit that naturally, I just avoid that game completely.
