Casino Complaint Titan Poker - no way to UN-INSTALL software!!!

Hi guys,

I tried to remove Titan Poker from my PC last week using control panel but to no avail, Titan wouldn't allow it.

I wasn't sure if this was a common problem so I searched online and found this forum.

I tried both the regedit and the search in all drives way of deleting it from the system.

After removing all the files that had anything with Titan Poker in its name I tried uninstalling the program again and a message came up saying I had possibly already uninstalled the program so thanks for the help!!

It looks like Max had the solution, but this shows this is not an isolated issue. The way CS dealt with the problem is VERY damning of this outfit. First they say it can't be done, then if you keep asking, they block you rather than offering further advice.

It looks like they have deliberately made the uninstall process difficult in order to prevent players from leaving. It should also be noted that poker clients install "spy" processes in order to detect cheating, such as running bot processes in the background, certain "illegal" dataminers for hand histories, etc.

If anything, Titan poker client has the attributes of malware, such as one that hijacks your browser to deliver ads. These are hard to remove by intent.

Sometimes, it can be caused by a failure in the install process whereby the uninstall entry is not properly created. This can be fixed by installing the same software on top of the old, and hoping that this time it will not fail to produce a valid uninstall entry.

It is also possible to hide an installed program from the add/remove section of the control panel so that the uninstall appears not to be there, or more importantly, so that the user has no idea the program is installed in the first place. Even running processes can hide themselves so that they just don't appear in the task manager. The Windows supplied tools are not good enough to unmask these, but many third party applications are. Windows also issue "TweakUI", a free "Powertoy" that can do a bit more than the standard tools, and may be able to unmask the Titan poker uninstall.

These problems with Windows are so common that the internet is awash with software tools designed to fix such problems, some good, and some bad. Many are free.
