What reputation Jet?
Sorry, not to make light of a bad situation at all...it's just that Malta has turned out to be an even bigger disappointment than Kahnawake. I wouldn't suggest anyone hold their breath waiting for ANY kind of answer from them, on any situation.
I really don't feel it is productive to simply give up on actions seeking to address apparently blatant wrongs like this.
If the guy/gal is in Malta he/she can knock on doors and speak to politicians, all of which may spur the LGA into action. It is certainly worth trying.
The CEO of the LGA, Reuben Portanier, has been making changes aimed at improving the LGA administration and is on record recently as accepting that things can and will be addressed....this is perhaps an opportunity for him to prove that he is not just blowing media smoke up the industry's ass imo.
Along with other interested parties, one of my stops at ICEi next week is going to be the LGA where I hope to connect with Portanier to impress on him the importance of player-centric improvements in the way this body does business.
Malta has considerable potential to enhance industry regulation imo; simply writing them off, along with efforts to prod them into action, is not going to achieve anything at all.
Edited to add that much the same can be said for Kahnawake Gaming Commission, another highly controversial subject: it does not have a good rep with players and that's absolutely understandable given incidents in the past.
However, there have been a number of recent reports suggesting that the KGC are at last starting to get with the program, in that they have called in respected industry individuals to guide them in better organising critical operations like player dispute procedures and regulatory compliance and enforcement that bites.
I know....the proof of the pudding will lie in the eating, but that's no reason to dismiss out of hand attempts that could be genuine to make improvements. At least that should be encouraged and not blasted out-of-hand imo.
