Jackpot Factory's Inspirational Stories

Welcome to Casinomeister, mikeys!

I am trying to get in contact with them again - it is simply amazing that they have yet to resolve this issue.

Thanks Spearmaster....have left a message with ecogra myself....hopefully they will get back to me...stuff like this just doesn't help the improving image of the industry...hope it gets resolved soon....

...and like the idea of a donation....they should give a handy some to a problem gambling charity and make a serious and grovelling apology!!!

I found these inspirational tales were still up, and eCogra will be back to work soon after the holidays.

The bank holiday was just Monday. Yesterday was a normal working day for eCOGRA. Today is a normal working day. Nothing has happened. The pages are all there. The casino spokesman said he was "having them removed" there and then fully 24 hours ago. Nothing has changed.

While I'm sure both Jackpot Factory and eCOGRA are aware of the situation, I would definitely encourage all of you who are not happy to contact them and register your protest. Sometimes it takes a little more obvious heat from various sources to get something taken care of.

Waaaouww, we have a real masterpiece.
Let's have a look at the weirdest ones:

Meditation and Free slots (this could be the founder text of a new religious mouvement called the Slotology):

My inner soul benefits from free slots
I really like playing free slots. I feel like I am a completely different person these days, thanks to free slots. Anyway, there is more to my heightened serenity than free slots. What has happened since playing free slots is quite interesting. I have started meditating. Strange. I never meditated in my life but since playing free slots I feel so calm, I am drawn to meditation. My friend Joanne had raved about meditating so I knew what it was and how to do it but I never imagined I would be doing it. there is just something so calming with free slots that draws me to meditate. So that is what I do... I play free slots and then I meditate.

I am just so serene now with free slots
These days even my mother hardly recognizes me. I am just so serene. I feel calm. I feel relaxed. I sense the power of a higher being to take care of me. The responsibility of life is still there, but the stress is gone. All thanks indirectly to free slots and directly to meditating. I would recommend the combination of free slots to any modern 21st century working person. Check them out and see if they can help you too.

This is really very weird. The guy who wrote that was definitely under drugs.

The list is almost endless.
What's crazy in this story is that it's obvious that they've done that thinking is was good for their search engine rankings.
I'm a SEO for 6 years now.
First of all, what they've done is not good at all for their rankings.
But the worst thing is that they've totally forgotten that those stories could be read by humans.
Finally, what they've done is clearly penalized by Google as it's blackhat SEO.
That means that if only one of the member of this forum fills a spamreport, their website could be blacklisted very fast which means totaly disapear from Google.
Cheap marketing, loosy techniques, ect...why do I have the feeling that I definitely can't trust casino operators ?

So now they want people searching for help with Hyper Activity Disorder to find their casino? Like the depressed, unemployed, and debt-ridden people weren't enough?

Well fantastic...they're now claiming that their slots can cure ADHD...well at last a true medical breakthrough. Sorry but must laugh at this as an old ADHD sufferer and someone who has spent many years working with ADHD sufferers who are particularly prone to gambling addiction this one really reaches new unethical heights....the sooner their blacklisted the better!!

At least the SEO 'artist' behind all these page seems to have some humour!!!
Are these pages supposed to be read by humans, or are they just hidden links a robot will follow?

I think BMW once did something simular (right?) and was actually banned by Google. Unfortunately Google lifted the ban after some weeks, but I am sure
some BMW managers had to change their underpants when it happened.

The BMW case was different. It was the German site and they put up hidden redirect pages - ie: it detected a search engine "bot" and gave it different, arguably more relevant stuff to read while users were redirected to the homepage.

I was the NetBooster's salesman who signed the original BMW contract in France and after that we made a "more work" with the german filliale.
As Simmo explained it, the BMW case was a bit different.
It was "sneaky redirections" (as Google calls them) implemented on BMW's website, not very clever, but nothing such as this insane work.
Maybe it's not the SEO fault, sometimes the clients have very strange requests.

Hello again,

First of all, the articles have been removed from our sites. Regarding some of the postings today, I would like to respond that this was not a stock answer, and I was definitely not trying to make any excuses for what happened. I believe I made it quite clear that I view these articles as unacceptable, and that third party or not, it is our responsibility what gets published on our sites. This was a major error on our part - no two ways about it.

I also stated - categorically - that some issues in our internal processes have been revealed. I also mentioned that some significant staff changes have taken place recently in this area of our operations - some voluntary, some not. Once again, the new team will ensure that this does not happen again.

They are NOT removed. Try this for starters:

Very crafty.

All those articles say nothing, but contain phrases like "...play slot machines for free", "...casino slot machines", "...slot machines", "...online slots" and variations thereof. All those particular "slot" phrases are links, taking you to other pointless pages, saying the same thing - nothing.

Why the links? They go nowhere meaningful, just to more crappy articles.

Presumably because links are more attractive to the serps than plain text, so anyone searching "slots" has a better chance of hitting that AllSluts page.

That really is a kindergarten attempt at serp manipulation. Even I could do a better job. Although the grotesque "All Sluts Saved My Life" article is gone, it remains a hugely tacky, cheap marketing campaign. Not exactly something that "better" casinos should be seen to be indulging in.

Is eCOGRA happy with the (apparently) finished product?

I've clicked on each of the 87 links of your Free Slots "article" sitemap page and at the moment I'm posting this, none of the page or their content have been removed.
I'm seriously doubting that you've fired the old team and recruited a new one so fast knowing that you've claimed twice that you've removed the "articles" when you didn't.
It takes minutes to remove content and days to weeks to recruit new staff.

Multi-Line Slots Can Improve Arthritis

The Foundation for Arthritis Prevention has recently announced that certain games can help reduce the worsening and spread of arthritis. Among the games mentioned in the list was multi-line slots, a new game which has become popular on the internet. Multi-line slots requires dexterity in the fingers and if an arthritis sufferer plays multi-line slots on a regular basis, the Foundation states, then the feelings of arthritis will decrease in that said area.

Multi-Line Slots For the Elderly

The Foundation also announced that it encourages the elderly to play multi-line slots and the other games listed because this will help not only improve the condition of those people with arthritis, but multi-line slots might even help prevent the occurrence of arthritis in later life. The Foundation stated that multi-line slots was not a game which was too confusing and that the elderly would be able to pick it up quite easily without major hassles. It has even opened a hot-line for those people who are interested in finding out more about multi-line slots and other games.

Nice, get out of debt while curing your Arthritus
by playing slots. Why does the rep keep saying the pages
have been removed? Just checked 15 seconds ago and they are
still active.
"The Foundation for Arthritis Prevention....also announced that it encourages the elderly to play multi-line slots"...why dont I
believe this?

I have to say, your casino is scum for trying to piggy back on things like arthritis, and bizarrely, home loans.

Sometimes I get really upset about the littlest things. If the house is untidy I will go nuts. Other times though, nothing bothers me. It is a little weird and very frustrating. More crucially, it is very upsetting to my husband and our dog. Recently while looking for a home loan mortgage rate - California is getting really expensive you know - and I flipped, I completely lost my temper at the mortgage rate we'd have to pay for a home loan in California.

Anyways, my husband told me I have to find something to take my mind out of my intensity, find a happier perspective. So I started playing slot machines. I did not intend to play slot machines. But after another California loan related outburst, I went out for a walk. I came across a games hall with slot machines. I went in and started playing. Before I knew it, it was dark. I had been playing the slot machines for hours. I thought my husband would be furious. I called and said I would be home shortly but he sounded good.

Slot Machines Help Provide Clarity
When I came home and was so upbeat from the slot machines he said I should play more often - even if it meant he would have to do more things around the house. He said slot machines were clearly very good for me. I felt like the slot machines were giving me clarity to see things for what they were instead of getting so upset. This is now extremely important since finding a low mortgage ratein in California is so emotionally taxing.

Video Poker was a superhero. He was nothing like the other super hero's that I've ever heard of, no, Video Poker was special. Video Poker took it upon himself to eradicate poverty in the world. You could say that he was a modern day Robin Hood, except for the fact that he didn't steal from the rich to feed the poor. Video Poker simply stated brought up the standard of living for those who needed it the most. Video Poker would go to the poorest of neighborhoods, and with a wink and a flick his cape turn them into clean, tree studded, sprawling neighborhoods, with a huge storage building of food, enough to last the residents a life time.

Video Poker helped in areas hit by disaster When Video Poker passed on, mankind united to completely eradicate poverty
Video Poker would also go to places hit by natural disasters, and turn them right around. All of the rubble would be transformed into pastoral beautiful areas, full of crops and livestock. He would rebuild the houses into homes and he always made sure that there was more than enough clothing to go around. Wherever he went, the residents would thank their lucky stars. Video Poker loved what he did. He loved to see the smiling faces of he children had touched and the tears of joy from their parents. Video Poker saved millions of people from poverty. After he died, of old age, of course, the wealthy in the world decided to honor Video Poker by sharing with poor. Shortly enough, world poverty was entirely eradicated.

This has got to be one of the most ridiculous, thoughtless, insulting, gimmics I've ever seen.

I'm a new player at this casino group. I signed up just this week and played at All Jackpots. I'm sorry I gave them any of my money.

Revisit

I have just revisited this thread, and I find the examples even more bizzare!
Even when they are removed, there needs to be a full admission of what these articles are (rather than our own theories).

Although JP Factory have been generally good, it seems they are far too keen to use the "it was a third party contractor" excuse. My cash-outs often have problems, and it takes some serious prodding to get something done. The explanation is invariably that the processor is a third party over which the casino have little control. Indeed, the processor even ignores urgent requests from casino CS, and it has taken direct intervention from the top to make Inexia take note of an issue and correct it.
This is a similar, but far far worse case. The sheer quantity of these duff articles, and their content, goes beyond my own theory that these were churned out by players hoping to win the bonus for the best (read outrageous), tale that were collected together.
Given that we have now had two normal working days, and despite the fact that this was such a damaging issue that I would expect technical staff to be called out during the holiday, the articles are still available, and each minute they are, the damage only gets worse.
All we need now is for Senator Goodlatte or entourage to "google something" and accidentally spot one of these to have a killer case for passing the prohibition bill. The fact that an eCogra sealholder is implicated strengthens the Goodlatte argument even more, in that the self regulation currently operating in lieu of formal regulation is not working as it should.

This will probably be the most interesting thread of the year!
Fortune Lounge have been in the cold for a year, and all they did was SPAM.

I would like now to nominate them for the "fall from grace" award as well as the "most stupid casino trick" award for 2006.

We need to be assured that not only are we promised this will not happen again, but that robust procedures are in place to make it impossible for a eCogra sealholder to get away with such lax internal controls that any possibility of a repeat, even by a contractor, will be prevented from the outset. I would like to know how long these "articles" have been in existence, and what purpose they were intended to serve, which, sadly for them, has not been the purpose they have ended up serving.

I shudder to think what would have happened if they had been regulated by the UK Gaming board, they would have had them, the advertising standards agency, trading standards, doctors, charities, etc, all over them!

Well they've certainly done a good job on Google - at a time where I gather it's rather hard to get pages into the rankings, a search for 'microgaming' returns two of these nonsense pages in its first ten results.

vinylweatherman said:

I would not categorise this as "stupid".

There are articles all over the place, it seems endless. They're really hammering the search term "beating slot machines" (amongst others), there are the most hopeless articles at AllSluts and WildJacks just repeating that phrase over and over, almost without disguise. They're all links of course, trying to pull in the serps. It's working, too - google "beating slot machines" and see what you get. So essentially, Jackpot factory are getting exactly the results they wanted.

Since they're regulated by eCOGRA, do we think they'll lose the seal over this?
