I haven't posted for a long long time, but can I advise anyone either with a balance in Bet Butler to act fast, and anyone considering signing up with them, DON'T.

Posted in here mainly because they offer a free sign up bonus and a matched bet and neither of these will be honoured (I have never received any and have been eligible for at least 6 which the terms state are credited instantly following a settled bet).

Long story short, I signed up mainly for the sports side of things, but they also have a casino too. Made a withdrawal a number of weeks ago, which went without any contact etc. I contacted them numerous times, but they do not reply to emails or answer their phone.

Unfortunately, I am not alone. This has affected a huge number of people, and it doesn't help that national newspapers are still running their ads.

Contacting them via a journalist, I was told there were issues surrounding know your customer verifications which were causing delays. Ok, I could accept this, but surely a mass email or press release wouldn't hurt.

Withdrawal reports are now non existent, and all forms of communication have dried up except for their marketing twitter feed.

The major concern for me was communication I had with their 'CEO' and their VIP 'CEO'. Chris Bell, who I guessed at his email from contact with other employees, told me he no longer works for the company. Would a former employee firstly still have access to that email, secondly would he ever log on, and thirdly why would he reply?

I then contacted the VIP guy Baron Menzel. He replied within an hour saying he was skiing in France and would look tonight. Again, alarm bells ring mostly because to my knowledge the season is 90% over so I would be amazed if their was any snow there, and also would he check and reply to his emails while on holiday.

Finally, and this could be nothing, I posted on another forum about this using a similar name. They linked to this twitter feed that I looked at, but I don't use social media so I couldn't contact them. But now I've noticed an account set up with the same name as me initially having a go and then saying I'd been paid etc and how great Bet Butler were. Alarming.

I don't want to be making assumptions here, but I would advise anyone with a balance to look at getting it out through other means than requesting a withdrawal as I honestly think that's the last you will see of it.

A shame to see what was a brilliant company wind up in this way.

This sounds very disconcerting if it can be verified.
Have you tried their rep on here, as they are accredited?
It seems strange, as we have no other current complaints that I'm aware of.

Apparently they aren't accredited. I had initially gone down the PAB route but as it's so long since I've been on here I didn't think to check that section and as they aren't it couldn't proceed any further, hence why I thought I had better make others aware so they don't fall into the same trap I have.

So they're nothing to do with Butler's bingo then? (who are accredited.)

P.S. No it doesn't look like it. UKGC licensed, UK company which surprises me considering the carry-on you've informed us about. Dodgy-looking slots of uncertain software, wouldn't touch them anyway.

Only in name I believe.

I don't know too much about their casino software, but their sports book was one of, if not the best in the UK and they are well known (used to sponsor Sunderland football club). They acted as a broker basically giving you the best odds available and taking a cut for themselves, so they weren't actually a bookmaker. Hence how they have managed to get into financial problems is very strange.

I've seen reports that collaborate this advisory from kmay87 and there is clearly something going on.

One report included quotes from a company rep who said that as a broker BetButler was awaiting payments from betting operators, and this was the reason for slow-pays.

Another report alleged that a Gambling Commission staffer had revealed that BetButler was being scrutinised for non-compliance with its requirements.

BetButler recently signed an agreement to take on the player base, and payment obligations of the Bodugi site, which had its licence pulled by the Gambling Commission - the increased workload may have something to do with these slow-pay and communications failures as well.
