I have an outgoing line which blocks all incoming calls. I use this number for calling sites & registration. I have a personal line for other calls. I keep my mobile numbers separate too. My friend registered through some mobile gaming site and is constantly inundated with text offers. I've never had one in 10 years.
If they are going to phone you, at least they should email you to request it & then there is selling of information lists. Private information is not a license to send unsolicited calls or messages. It should not be passed on.
With the new regulations in South Africa, they will probably lay down a set standard of compliance.
Self policing has been a failure.
Examples :
The increase in screwing players since the UIGEA came into force. Piss poor Terms & Conditions, a vague bonus abuse system
Kahnawake's handling of AP/UB. Cheap & nasty responce to a multi million dollar fraud.
Prohibition has been a failure.
Examples :
US players still gamble, less the standards they once received.
Skanky sites get a foothold because US players are limited to where they can play.
Hopefully South Africa leads the way to International regulation. That doesn't mean US regulated but a laws which cover players within their own country, regardless of where the site is hosted.
