Theme aside (patients who were tortured to death in a mental hospital, very 'gritty', maybe for the next release we can have Jimmy Savile's Paedo Paradise or something), this slot is just bad IMO. I'd be interested to see what changes had to be made prior to release, and what the objections raised were.
(If you're not aware, you can play it right now over at the NLC affiliate site.)
Base game has a sample that seems to loop every 15 seconds or so, standard issue NLC dead spin city and small wins, the occasional bit of something better appearing out of nowhere.
The bonus rounds are more confusing than anything, they've thrown so many mechanics in there now that you're left watching things splitting and nudging and 'waysing' and all the rest of it, and when that's all done you get to see what's in the mystery box as it were, and what you've won or not. (Plus it goes through all the animations and everything even if it's a complete miss win wise and is a zero pay.)
The theme doesn't bother or offend me particularly, but it doesn't make for a slot I'd want to spend too long on either, unlike, say, Punk Rocker which is an agreeable game to spend an extended session on.
The sepia-toned graphics aren't wildly exciting, and the game overall lacks the animations, sparkle and pizazz of Punk Rocker.
Also, ignore the feature buys and just play the base game and see how you get on with it, this can want a large number of spins for a feature and pay appallingly when it finally comes in.
And the 1000x stake streamer bait feature buy is the final kick in the nuts for those who'd want a slot to be interesting to play normally. I have tried a few feature buys, I've had the 80x return as little as 2x stake, the 200x down around 30-40x, and the 1000x can easily just do in the 100s somewhere.
I wasn't a massive fan of X-Ways Hoarder, but I'd take it over this any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
Maybe one day they'll make another pleasant game, like Wixx.
