Ask me anything (about slots)!

Trancemonkey,

What are the reasons that games from b&m take so long to transfer to online ? Or the same the other way from online to proper casinos ?

I’m asking because your new games look fantastic visually, so why can companies just not do a simultaneous release for all markets ?

Another thing is if DOA 1 or 2 was put in land based casinos , what are the reasons that you think it wouldn’t work ? I’m assuming that DOA is very successful online , and there must be a reason that NetEnt don’t have a big land based presence.

Is it just due to gaming politics / brand dominance ( Novo / IGT / SG ) in land based ?

One of the reasons I’m sure that most people signed up to the old jackpot party casino is that they were the first to have the WMS slots online . That is the reason I signed up.

Last point is Cashino online , which is owned by Merkur but has not had any Merkur slots available for a few years now . I only signed up with them as they had the slots I wanted to play originally

Games like DOA with RTP over a million spins would certainly frustratie landbased players. As it is common or considered normal to first wager 150 spins on average to have a bonus going, imagine the impatience people would have playing on a landbased. The game has to be shrinked in a way to offer a more stable volatility that is equal to many of the other slots a landbased offers. And yeah, you have these slots already, usually the million euro machines which slowly buildup over time as players wager more and more on these slots.

I think landbased and their offerings hold their ground(s) already. Dont need that garbage that some online games bring to the table.

How long do slots remember your play session?
I mean, for slots with accumulators like Vikings, how long do they remember where your rage bars are up to?

It would suck to have a bar almost full and come back in a week time only for it to have forgotten your progress.

It normally tells you on the rules page if it times out, otherwise it should be forever.

Not sure how long it saves, but the rage i had built up on Vikings go berzerk at Vera&John was still there.
And it has been months, maybe half a year since played last.
The time for saved sessions is also regulated in a few markets - and as @trancemonkey says - check the rules for details. 6 months is a pretty common default number.

What do you think of Legacy Of egypt slot?

This is Play 'n' Go's attempt to do a Montezuma, with some minor differences.
I think i prefer the original Montezuma if i'm honest...

What do you mean?

I dont know enough about the contents or the workings of slots to give the best examples but i was thinking of something like:

Are slots compensated? Post 761
Does stopping work? - Post 213
RNG - Post 666 :)
etc
etc

Obviously more categories but something like that would be useful i think as i often have a question or fancy getting schooled but did intend to read the thread from start to finish and started skimming through posts.

Something to sort the wheat from the chaff, like a knowledge base. Or a table of contents.

It would become more a glossary than thread really, but easiest thing to do would be copy/ paste common question & answers and import them into a said 'Beginner's Guide' in a new thread.

This thread's way too convoluted for people to 'to & fro', it should be put out to pasture and just have a clearer one made, albeit without users' ahem excellent insights!

Downside: Trance'll have to comb through 120 pages of.......'conjecture' :D

Yes something like a seperate glossary with the most general questions and the answers from trancemonkey would be great but im being lazy and thats a lot of hard work. Great thread anyway and good to have the input.

Do all slots have a demo mode ? I know that demos exists on at least one as I used to play 'Ted' and 'Goldilocks' on Vegas Slots Online. In the case of the former, a drop down select-box is present that allows the next spin to drop in any of the 'featurettes'.... "Leading to...." ......<insert bonus type here>.

For the one session that I saw this, it was good fun exploring the different things that I hadn't seen. I didn't screen grab at the time (18 months' ago ??), or go any further with looking whether there was any comms outside of the game client. My questions are:

1) Was it a mistake for the site to show this interface? (probably)
2) What other client-side switches are built into games that we cannot see ? (Bet size, currency, number of spins until pre-determined feature, etc)
3) Are the UKGC intelligent enough to police misuse of this ?

I wasn't going mad. Honest 'Guv

The version of the game you played is likely the one they make available on their website or demo server. It would enable people to see all the features.

It is not the true demo mode. If a site links to this version, it's likely that it was not intended to be a public facing version of the game.

All games have demo options like this for testing, development and demonstration purposes but it is very unusual for these to be made available to the public.

As per UKGC guidelines, the demo mode of a game should be exactly the same maths as the playable version - I.e the only difference should be that credits are already on the game.
