The big difference here is that there was no need to wager through 1000 credits to receive this, it was completely free. The best way to have trialled the Gift Crap promotion was to give it to any player who ticked the box and played at least one hand or spin of anything (no 1000 crap). Feedback would have been critical, but at least BelleRock could have claimed it was a free trial and cost players nothing.

What is puzzling is that the "risk department" STILL cannot stretch to all lines. The defense of a player winning the jackpot is BS, as over the player base as a whole the payout is still likely to be 95% of the nominal value of the free spins. This 95% payout itself then being subject to 30x WR, which makes it broadly neutral in terms of what will end up being withdrawn as cash over the whole player base.

Secondly, why can other casinos offer 100 spins at 1c over all 25 or 30 lines, recklessly throwing caution to the winds and risking disaster
Whereas the execs at BelleRock get cold sweats with an offer expanded to 5 lines!
Are the finances at BelleRock in such dire straits that the slightest run of luck on this promotion risks bankruptcy. Probably not, but this is the impression gained from these efforts at extreme caution.

I have not uninstalled RiverBelle as I am unable to meet the WR on my 62p due to the coin sizes on many of the games, although I might play one of the Thunderstruck games at 1p and 1 line. Should I win the jackpot, it will be 100. If a player had won the jackpot on the Gift Rap promo, this would have been a similar amount in bonus credits, hardly going to break the bank!

One of the all-time most pathetic promos ever, and the BelleDonk make-good is "sorry, we'll do better next time".

My guess is the reason this promo seemed ok to BelleRock is that it probably gave the player about the same value as their typical raffle promos.

This thread got me to thinking. I received a promo email from Villento yesterday with my weekly match bonus and their other Xmas promos. They are currently running a free spin promo, their first one I believe. Their deal is deposit $20, play it through on any slot, and on Christmas Day you can claim 12 free spins on Avalon. So I have just written an extremely long winded email, asking them for clarification on the free spins "value", specifically how many lines played and at what bet. I also told them about this thread, and suggested nicely that I doubt they would want to make the same mistake that Belle Rock has, and insult an entire community of players, lol. I love this casino, and have confidence in them that they wouldn't pull such a stunt. So we already know that JPF runs the free spins promo correctly, as it was intended. Yes, as I recall Belle Rock said they were concerned about someone hitting a jackpot (which would be like $50 at 1 cent a spin) and costing them some money, so I don't expect a redo.

Yes, that would just be horrible for Belle Rock. The chance is only 1 to 5M for that each spin, this promotion will definately be very costly for them.
