both sides have the ability to do this, so why not allow it? it isn't like steroids in the olympics, it's using a mathematical aid akin to a calculator or blackjack strat card.
and being a game of chance, even the mathematically best move might fail you come the next throw of the dice.
not only by a monetary urge when playing for stakes, but also for my own continued apprenticeship in mastering the game, i would always want to know what the "book says" move is in that spot.
