First off... I'm old fashoned and believe telephones (even the cell phone variety LOL) should just be a phone. (and I HATE cellphones, however necessary the evil) BUT the next time we get new cell phones we may be forced to enter the 21st century and have access to the web on the damn things. (i prefer carrying my little netbook and mobile broadband usb in my purse LOL) And don't EVEN let me get started on the evils of texting! LOL

So, since I have no clue about smart phones and such, help me out here. Why would we need an 'app' to access our forum here? I couldn't just get on the web and click a shortcut or something and be here and read posts?

Actually, you have nothing to fret about. The Android app and the upcoming iPhone app are for persons with Blackberries and iPhones and such. It allows them to fully interact in the forum while traveling to and from wherever. There are around 100 visitors a day who access the forum via their phones - many I am guessing are i-Gaming reps and affiliates who deal with the "business" aspect of this site.

I bought one of those Android tablet thingies and have used the CM Android App.

Works really well!

The smileys show up as just the smiley code though and not graphical smieys(I can live with that though!)

Over all was easy to use and read. Especially like how the thread just scrolls down and you don't have to change to the next page, it just loads and then follows on at the bottom of page one! Awesome!
