Not so free spins

When did free spins become not so free spins? Most offers I get now by email have a big headline that reads FREE SPINS OFFER, but then when you read the email you find out that you have to deposit x amount to get these very "free" spins. A lot of them are also tied to wagering, so they're actually twice as "free".

How could I say no to depositing 20€ and getting 5€ worth of spins that maybe pays 1-2€ if I'm lucky? Then on top of it I have to wager it a minimum of 40x.

Few years ago, "Free Spins" or similar appearing in my inbox list, I could not click it quick enough to see what nice offers the casinos had in store for me whether deposit based or free stuff.

Now when I see that header or similar, I simply roll my eyes and delete without even opening the email.

Yeah, there was a time not long ago you were excited to get free spins. There were no strings attached and if you won you could cash out immediately if you wanted to.

I also don't even bother opening these emails unless it's from a casino I know only offers no strings attached free spins. These casinos are in the minority nowadays though, so 90+% of the emails go into the trash without me reading them.

I honestly hate the person who invented "freespins" and all the casinos who now try to act like 10 free spins!!! at 10p a spin is something to get excited about
I'm no high roller but 10p spins are just tedious
