Tips Ghostbusters - new slot from IGT

This is poor for online slots where a proper RTP is in the 95.5% to 97.5% range (which is where most games at NetEnt and MGS are sitting).

I'm actually surprised that the big players in B&M casinos haven't been able to correctly adapt their product online. IGT is a prime example, but even WMS online isn't on par with their real slots. Same with Aristocrat, their online slots don't look as good, don't run as smooth and still carry the lower B&M RTP's.

Not impressed by the big boys here but I guess that it's not their primary market so they don't really care.

Most of IGT's games go to the right side of 95% too but unlike Net Ent & MGS, they do a range of RTP's while the others are fixed. Ghostbusters is lower as it's both branded and low variance. For example, the Playtech Marvel 50-line games are all around 92% while their higher-variance 20/25 line counterparts are closer to 95%. As a rough guide, the higher the variance of a branded game, the higher the RTP.

Just My Opinion.......

Hiya,

I hate Ghostbusters slot for what it's worth; never seems to spin properly and I've never had an ounce of decent luck with it. That being said however, as we all know, any slot using any software can go bonkers. :D

Ghostbusters is a big let down, the stay puff feature is the only decent thing on it but that is hard to get.

IGT have acquired the rights to some big branded slots and they have unique and fun features. Its just a pity all the slots seem to run off the same payout structure. They all have loads of small wins and a 100xbet is an achievement in itself, anything above 500x is very rare.

Cleopatra was my favourite when I started to play online but maybe someone can explain this to me, why is there so many different looking versions of it?

There are 3 that I am aware of. All are identical in game play and have the same RTP (95.015) afaik while two are identical in in-game graphics. One of these two runs from IGT's own servers (RGS) while the other is a stand-alone development designed to run on the casino's own servers and thus is usually found on "Games" tabs. The third is a re-vamped version - simply upgraded graphics and minor adjustments to the way it looks and spins - not as much fun IMO.

Yeah I prefer the small symbols and faster spin version seems to run a lot smoother than the big icon rough graphic type one.
Ive seen different setups of Playtechs Great Blue, but I think this is customised for the casino.

Not a fan of the Ghostbuster slot myself but my daughter loves it & seems to do well on it when she plays.. I get bored easy with it..

Why is the RTP lower on a low variance slot? To reduce play time?

I'm refering to "branded" slots here just to clarify but to be honest, I don't know the answer. Were I to guess, its is probably because the licensing deal with the brand owner creates added expense which is recouped through a slightly lower RTP which is unnoticeable to the player but over millions of spins, impacts the profit margin.

I'd imagine a slots developer would prefer to give players higher variance games but the danger here is that a brand name could be damaged if too many players - perhaps not fully understanding variance - post negative feedback regarding payouts. It's probably a fine balancing act.

I'll have to disagree with you here. It doesn't take millions of spins to notice a lower RTP on a low variance slot with low volatility. After a mere 100 spins at $1/spin, your balance will end up on average $3 or $4 lower than it would be with a higher RTP. Since a proper session is usually much more than 100 spins, it will sting and you will feel it.

For example, people who were playing Jackpot Party games at 92% felt the difference when they were playing the same WMS games at the full 95% elsewhere.

Lots of variables there but ultimately I think that could be a never-ending debate :D

Gotta agree with kasinoking ghostbusters can throw features at you like crazy but getting 50x+ is rare, the random wild feature in normal play can pay really nice but its really rare it shows up though, made a 200 deposits into 2000+ on it just by slowly upping bet.

But when its cold it eat your bankroll really fast.
