Finally got a royal!
Nice Royals!
I am thinking of doing something crazy for me. I am going to deposit $2000 half my gambling bankroll to try to get a Royal.
I want to do 4 play Microgaming JOB at $5 a turn.
Would try to do 10,000 deals for 40,000 hands.
What would be my expected losses at this. Is there a great chance of going bust doing this?
I'm not going to comment until you remove that Tally Ho fox from up there. I hate that damn slot, and want to knock that pipe out of his smug chops
Best of luck with the royal chasing!!!
I keep having a few half hearted attempts before the slots lure me back in. No joy yet. I'll be sure to post it here if it happens!!

Maybe someone can run the variance for 1, 4, and 10 play for you.

How about them rapid fire jackpots?? Look what happened yesterday during my "lunch break"![]()

I think the expected loss would be under $250, but the variance with VP is huge, so there's a very good chance of losing the $2000. Playing just one hand at a time does keep the variance a bit lower.Originally Posted by realwtfsup
In general it's not a good idea to play VP with the aim of chasing a royal - I played casinos for 6 months, including a lot of VP, without hitting one. I've since had better luck, but it's something to look forward to as an occasional bonus rather than to base your strategy around.
If you want to chase a royal anyway but not risk quite so much money it might be worth playing at one of the Casino Action group of casinos - Music Hall, Aztec Riches, Nostalgia etc. - you can play MG JOB 4 play at max coins for as little as something like $0.40.
CM, Is that jackpot random?
Nothing special, but I am happy anyway)

BTW: I am playing in Pounds.
I had turned my $100 banroll into over $200 so decided to play some slots. Started at $5 and $10 spins and hit nothing. So decided that some good wins were on the way and did a few $25 ones... thankfully this highest non-jackpot win came in for $400!!

Thanks for the comments everyone on VP. I did try the JOB 4 play at music Hall awhile back. Autoplayed 80,000 hands at $.20 =)
Going to play poker this month and just play VP every once in awhile for fun. Good suggestion not to chase a Royal. Havn't recieved a Royal in Hold'em since Aug. My best hand was in Omaha. I had Ah 2h 6h 7h in the BB. Flop come 3h 4h Ax? Hit The 5h on the turn! Was able to get a nice 3/4 pot since someone else hit the low. I know a 7 straight doesn't count but was still fun to see.
