Again - thank you to everyone who has responded so far.

I really appreciate the in-depth look into yourselves... and I appreciate the HONEST answers that you are giving.

Hmmm Nifters methinks that yes - a bonus has a two-fold purpose: One to draw the player in - and two to keep the player playing just in case they actually do win - in order to lighten the load.

For me - bonuses are a godsend cause they allow the entertainment and spinning reels to keep spinning. And I like to play for hours and hours and hours at a time - hoping to win... LOL!

But - I truly never thought of them as a manipulation to get winnings - although, now thinking about it - yes they are... LOL!

Good points and good discussions guys.

Per request I'm going to 'Sticky' this topic for a week or two (that means it will stay at the top of the forum, no scrolling down like the rest of them).

This is a temporary thing and will come off (without notice) once the topic ages a bit.

    Hope it helps.

In the beginning I was a child in a candy store with very low patience level. But after seeing how fricking quick the 'down-suck' can be, I basically grab and run now.

    1) Are you HONEST about YOUR gambling with your family and friends?

My parents would not understand it, so I just don't talk about it, as it would only worry them.

    2) Do you play to WIN or do you play for ENTERTAINMENT?

Both. But mostly entertainment. And as losing is not very entertaining, I play to win.

    3) Do you use anything to manipulate your winnings?

I hired a voodoo priest once and asked him to do ritual winning dances during my play, but it didn't work and the jumping up and down behind my back got irritating after a while.
But no, I don't use anything, just hit that SPIN button and hope for the big one.

    4) Do you OFTEN spend over your budget? (and do you have a budget?)

Yes I have a budget, very small these days, and I never go over it, simply because I can't.

    5) Do you ever promise anyone else that you WILL NOT gamble?

    No.

    6) When you win - do you often gamble most of the winnings back?

Not anymore. I learned to hit the cashout button when I found this forum back in March.
Ofcourse I had to learn it the hard way, as usual.
It was after my Roxy Palace disaster that I realised I had to quit completely or find a way to control my play.
Roxy Palace was my first MG casino.
I had played some at Playtech and RTG, but then I found Roxy Palace.
Made a €100 deposit with the 100% SUB, and wow, those games...
As I'm a lover of fantasy and Sience Fiction, Avalon immediately grabbed my attention, and my beginnersluck kicked in..
Betting €1 per spin, I started winning, and winning, and even more winning..
I played 3 sessions of 6-8 hours each, and my balance was over €1600 at the end of the third day! All withdrawable.
I only played slots. Hit a jackpot on Quest 4 Beer, could not lose on Stash of the Titans, kept hitting large bonusrounds on Franken Cash, man, I loved these games!
But instead of cashing out, I made my second biggest mistake ever, I upped my bets.
And gone were all the free spins and bonusrounds, it took me 3 days to build my balance to 1600, it took me less than 2 hours to lose it all.
Sick of it, I made my BIGGEST mistake ever, I started to chase my losses.
I went nuts, tilted, and lost 12 deposits of €100 each in a few hours.
As a result, I could not pay some of my bills, had to choose and decided not to pay my provider, so no internet for a few months.

After this I decided to do some research first, found this forum and changed the way I played completely.
Only €35 per week max., and only low rolling works fine for me.
I like to play with a bonus, it gives me something to aim for, and if I'm up, I cashout as soon as I meet the WR.
If I win, I can play some more, if I win big, I can buy something and play some more, if I lose, better luck next week..
Btw, I live alone, no kids.

    1) Are you HONEST about YOUR gambling with your family and friends?
I don't borrow money so no need to tell them anything. My family knows I play online casino games.

    2) Do you play to WIN or do you play for ENTERTAINMENT?
Both but mainly to win..I'm freaking annoyed as my computer is dead and I have to download every casino again to my laptop.
    3) Do you use anything to manipulate your winnings?
No..didn't know that you could do that.

    4) Do you OFTEN spend over your budget? (and do you have a budget?)
If I win I will and sometimes ok most of the time I go over my monthly budget but at least I don't get crazy now

    5) Do you ever promise anyone else that you WILL NOT gamble?
No...I like to play but not on a laptop...I don't like the flat keys.

    6) When you win - do you often gamble most of the winnings back
Yep, unless it's a significant win then it's flushed immediately and then I gamble some morre when it hits quicktender but most of it goes back to my bank.

I do remember about 5 years ago winning 12k at royal vegas...9k was in my bank within 3 days and eventually during that week I lost the whole thing back and then some. I tilted heavy that week and didn't stop...I use to do crazy gambling and wager anywhere from 9 to 25 per spin...had never low rolled until this year. I hadn't played in a year and when I came back I realized that the games were not as I had left them and I've considerably reduced my deposits to about 400 a week.

The good old days of ACH...no fees just money going back into your account without any hassles.
    Waiting on something interesting
