OP; It is very unfortunate, and I do feel for them, but at the end of the day it is VERY clearly spelled out in the terms.
I pretty sure that if anyone had the time & inclination to check, that this, or a very similar term, will be found in the vast majority of online casinos - even the accredited ones.
Whether they would actually enforce it or not is a different story...

It's a common term, but REPUTABLE casinos do NOT use it in the case of SPOUSES sharing a session at home. Any argument about who owns the money is not relevant as far as the casino is concerned - it belongs to the player registered, and who owns the funds in the deposit method.
Think of it another way, what if the wife just LOST nearly $2000, and then let "my husband and I" slip out in chat whilst negotiating an offer for the next deposit. I bet there would be NO voiding of play and locking the account. This would be SELECTIVE application of the rules only when they work in favour of the casino.
TopGame bitch & moan about the "rough ride" they get from Casinomeister, yet continue to demonstrate WHY they are having such problems. If they BEHAVE in a rogue manner, they shouldn't be surprised when they are CALLED rogues.
This is only going to make matters WORSE for TopGame.
