    Bryan...

You have made the "Thank You" button available under every post in every forum. If someone feels the need to "thank" someone for what was posted... and "you personally" don't agree with that... I don't think it's right for you to "chastise" that person.

You did that to "me" about 6-7 months ago when I "thanked" a post made by jod5413... and you also removed my "thank you" button as "punishment" for me expressing my "thanks" for her post.

jod5413 was suspended for a week for her post in that thread... and after serving her suspension... she was back as a "member in good standing"... yet I never had my "thank you" button reinstated. Was that supposed to be a "lifetime ban"?

Bryan... if you only want to allow someone to give a "thank you" to posts that you feel are appropriate... maybe you should consider removing that option from the forum.

If you disagree with someone thanking a post... wouldn't it be more appropriate to discuss this (perhaps privately) with the member... instead of publicly "spanking" them because you didn't feel the "thanks" was warranted?

Just my "2 cents" on this...

Personally I find all this bashing text w/ "adults" on this forum, rather alarming at best.

Come on folks! Let's grow up here.

We have a generation that takes online, texting, social networking to an entirely different level.

Just for an example of what I am referring to. .... We have a female teenager in FL ...... that is fighting for her life. A young man received some text messages so he took it upon himself to put on steeltoe boots, went to her school, and kicked her nearly to death.

I find it so unsettling to read all this bashing on here. We all are supposed to be adults. Let's be adults and show our kids that online banter is not the place to bash anyone.

    PNWGirl,

Just because we get out of line and the discussion gets heated, that does not mean we are not grown ups.

I agree with you about the kids texting and harassing other kids on social sites like MySpace, etc. Or, using a cell phone to record a gang beating the Hell out of a poor kid. But, again, I do not see the relevance here. I would think our kids do not read this forum, I know my kid wouldn't be allowed.

Last thing, MrR was talking about thanking people on their posts. I know I use the thanks button to let someone know I appreciate their post and agree with it. Or I like to thank someone that made me laugh. Or, I may thank a moderator for stepping in and soothing the "almost out of line member" so they do not get banned. There are other situations that I can not think of right now.

I do not see the connection between your post and MrR's. I could just be dense, but......

jod: Sorry if you felt that my post was directed to Mr.R. For it wasn't aimed at his post. ( Sorry Mr. R if you felt it was. )

I would like to think teenagers don't read CasinoMeister!

I was trying to convey ( guess I did that poorly in my post ealier ) is that bashing people whether we are teenagers ( in general ) or adults via internet and/or texting is wrong!

Now bashing someone and not agreeing w/ someones post... are two different things.

I am all for people to express themselfs and their point(s) of view. But to bash a poster because we don't agree.. I'm not for that.

@ mrracetrack - Sorry 'bout that. Sometimes ya gotta remind me about stuff. Your "Thanks" capabilities have been reinstated.

Further with the Thanks topic - it's a tricky one and we've discussed this before. In fact, here is a thread we should all revist:

A big thanks to all who contributed to this post and also thanks to those who said thanks!

There have been some great posts/counter posts on this thread and the majority look to have taken this on board.

What we can conclude from this is that we are all a group of individuals with different opinions, there will always be a difference of opinion but it is common sense that should always prevail.

Disagreements will always part of our nature and it's a good thing that it has been addressed here. Hopefully, we shall see less of the personal attacks from here on in.

I agree - in my opinion it's not a bad thing to roll out the topic of disciplined and courteous posting (even during disagreements ) every now and again to remind members that this forum is about hopefully balanced exchanges of useful information and opinion rather than flame wars and snide historical agendas.

I concur You're never going to get everyone agreeing with each other obviously but it's just nice to visit a forum where people at least respect other's opinions even if they don't agree IMO.
