Please Help: Ted 'Spearmaster' Loh Family Relief Fund

As you probably already have learned, Ted Loh (best known as ‘Spearmaster’), passed away late Monday following a valiant fight with liver cancer.

What most people didn’t know is that Ted was battling this since January (he was diagnosed, Dec. 31st), and he did so without health insurance.

Each chemo treatment came with a $4000 price tag. All of the drugs added up into the tens of thousands of dollars. In Ted’s last ditch attempt to save his life, he opted into a radical radiation therapy, called SIR-Spheres. To have this therapy, Ted had to travel to Singapore, enduring the cost of the trip and $20,000 for the procedure.

It goes without saying that Ted was not able to pull in much income during the year with everything he was contending with. With this in mind, we’ve set up a fund to help Ted’s family in the hopes of getting them back on their feet and ultimately giving them the financial stability they’ll need in going forward.

For those who don’t know, Ted left behind his wife and three school-aged children (the youngest being only 9 years old).

I know times are tough and people have been so generous of late. I’m hoping that there’s still some giving left in everyone for the family of someone who’s done so very much for this industry.

To make donations please click HERE.

Quite literally, every penny will help.

    Thank you.

    Hmmmm...
I almost didn't contribute when I saw your e-mail address was Debbee@casinocity.com - a site which happily and openly promotes casinos who are rogued by CasinoMeister...

But ONLY 'cos it's for Ted I contributed $500 - and I hope Debbee, that you will re-consider your association with these rogue peddlers.

RIP Ted, you will be sadly missed by all who knew you.

That's very generous and will be appreciated by Ted's family, I'm sure...but was that other superfluous stuff aimed at someone who is doing a good deed really necessary?

KK--Seriously? We've all just lost someone we cared so deeply for and you want to take a swipe at me and my employer?

IMO, what is most important right now is to try to do whatever possible to help Ted's family. I so appreciate your generous donation, and I'm certain Ted's wife and kids will be incredibly grateful.

Feel free to take your digs at me and Casino City at a more appropriate time. For now, this moment belongs to Ted and his family.

    KK,

I am in agreement with JetSet and also Debbee here. Thank you for donating, but this thread is not the place for having digs at other members or indeed other portals.

Ted was one of Debbee's dear friends and he would be the first to give you both barrels for your unwarranted and unfair attack on her.

This thread is for Ted and if I see any more posts using it as a vehicle to attack other members, I will personally kick the poster instigating such an attack to the curb.

Absolutely Debbee. Please, please everyone...this is for Ted. I couldn't care any less about the gaming industry than I do at this moment. And if this thread turns into some kind of bashfest, I think I'll lose my mind.

KK, that is extremely generous of you. And Deb...thank you for organizing this. Ted would not want his family having the added burden of extreme financial distress to deal with right now...in addition to the grief they are dealing with.

I will have to work out a way to make a small donation next week Deb...as I don't/can't use Paypal. But I'll work around it. As GG stated in her original post...even if you think that $5 or $10 may not help...it will. Every single little bit will add up.

Not going to happen! This isn't the time or place and as Dave said, perpetrators will be ejected.

I'm sure KK gets it, and he's kicked the fundraising off to a great start with his generous donation, so let's get back to the point: helping Ted's family.

I have created a tribute page to Ted on OCR, which is linked to above the fold on the home page of Online Casino Reviewer.

32Red have kindly setup an affiliate account whereby any revenue accrued by their banners on the page, will go direct to Ted's Family.

If any other casinos want to do the same, please contact me. webzcas @ bathrockmedia.com

I hope to get the tribute to Ted complete today, but have to go out now as have to organise a few things before we fly to Gibraltar tomorrow afternoon.

I do not have access to the account and Mark Quayle, will liaise with Bryan or Debbee in a couple of weeks time, to setup the payment details for Ted's family.

I also will be asking other casinos to come on board.

    The page is here: http://www.onlinecasinoreviewer.com/tedlohtribute.htm

I did not personally know him but I will try to make a small donation later this week or earlie next.
I get soooo sad reading things like this, I just dont understand why people that are sick also have to stress to be able to pay for getting better,
In times like these I am glad that I live in sweden where we dont have to pay for medical care.
My heart goes out to his family and like I said, I will look into it and see what I can afford to contribute.
